connections
I think the virtual world has allowed us to become totally plugged in and also totally disconnected. The social platforms are perfect for observing squirrels but for me have the emotional and spiritual depth of a spoon. I would normally shy away from an online forum under the premise that I am just not a tremendous fan of technology, but this space feels really different. It feels like we could genuinely create connections with each other and other people while also taking a deep dive into topics of substance and relevance. I promise I will never show you pictures of the pie I baked.

I have mixed feelings about technology. In one respect, large social media platforms have allowed people from all over the world to share and witness each other’s lives, but since those platforms have been monetized, the authenticity of connection has decreased. The volume of content is so vast, that it gives the illusion of connection because of the exhaustion that comes with the continuous dopamine rush. We are bearing witness to addicted brains who are losing their ability to connect in person or at a more sincere level.
