Isn't this group supposed for Maestro Students Only? Is it open and free for EVERYONE to join? I am not sure I am comfortable with non Maestro Students being in here.

Well after a lot of consideration I have decided to stay with Maestro and get my ASSOCIATES in Ai Software Engineering. This was my goal from the beginning and none of the other schools that were in the teach out plan offered a Ai course anyway so after going over everything and Maestro sent me my new schedule I have decided to stay. In all honesty I never wanted to leave I like the teaching structure I like everything about the academic part of Maestro. I love my peers. So here I am I am scheduled to graduate by June 7, 2027 sooner if I finish sooner. I am HAPPY!!

I so can’t wait until Columbia College contacts me and I can transfer!! I can’t take this coding anymore!! Gonna lose my mind cuz it just ain’t sticking!! I know I should wait til end of term to transfer. But I need to end this coding stuff asap. 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫 Yes I’m aware that there may be a bit of coding in the Cybersecurity program I am transferring into. But at least I’ll hopefully get a break from it for a while.

I've got an old phone sitting in a drawer doing absolutely nothing. No SIM. No plan. No purpose. Just a $600 brick collecting dust. So I'm turning it into something. The project: wipe it, strip it down, and rebuild it as a fully offline device. No carrier. No cloud. No constant sync. Just a self-contained tool that works with zero signal and zero internet. Why I'm doing it: Most people underestimate what a phone actually is. It's not a "phone." It's a pocket computer with a camera, a screen, a battery, storage, sensors, and Wi-Fi radio — and we throw them in drawers the second we upgrade. That's wasted hardware. I want to see how far I can push one. What I'm planning to build into it: ⚡ Offline knowledge library — Wikipedia, survival guides, medical references, repair manuals stored locally. Full library, no signal needed. ⚡ Offline maps — the entire region downloaded, GPS still works without service. Phones use satellites, not cell towers, for location. ⚡ Local AI — I already run models locally on my machine. I want to see what a small model can actually do on a phone with no API, no subscription, no data leaving the device. ⚡ Dedicated focus device — no social apps, no notifications, no algorithm. Just books, notes, and audio for deep work blocks. ⚡ Security cam / dashcam — mount it, let it run, pull footage over local Wi-Fi. ⚡ Emergency backup — documents, contacts, passwords, and instructions that survive when the internet doesn't. What I'm actually testing: Can a device with no service still be genuinely useful? What breaks? What surprises me? What's the real ceiling on hardware everyone else calls obsolete? I don't know yet. That's the point. I'll be documenting the whole thing here — the setup, the wins, the dead ends, and the exact steps so anybody in here can do it with their own drawer phone. Building in public.
