One of my goals this year is to consistently use a visual daily schedule that incorporates songs and real photographs of our classroom routines and activities. I plan to reference the schedule throughout the day to help children anticipate what comes next, ease transitions, and provide a greater sense of predictability and security. Pairing the schedule with familiar songs and visual cues will support all learners, particularly those who benefit from additional language, auditory, or visual supports. Using actual photos from our classroom will help children make meaningful connections to their daily experiences and foster greater independence as they learn to follow the routine. I also hope that regularly referring to the schedule will encourage children to develop time awareness, build confidence during transitions, and reduce anxiety by establishing a consistent, engaging classroom routine.
