Why people dollar cost average when they have a lump sum today. To me, dollar cost averaging should only apply when you are mining fiat. If you have a lump sum today and are unsure how much to convert, ask yourself if you were 100% in Bitcoin, would you convert it to fiat to then DCA back into Bitcoin? Of course not. We need a new term(s).

When this question comes up, I always refer back to Geoffrey Moore's "Crossing the Chasm." When Moore talks about a “use case,” he’s not talking about features or demos. He’s talking about a believable story. It starts with a real person, in a real job, dealing with a real problem they’re already paying for. Not a hypothetical future pain—something broken right now. The question is simple: Why would a risk-averse, career-protecting adult use this? Usually the answer is: doing nothing finally became riskier than trying something new.
