Back in April, I missed my flight and was sitting there scrolling TikTok when I came across Jay. That night, we ended up talking. Four months later, I can honestly say that conversation changed the way I look at my business. I know how to do the work. But I had to be honest with myself. Knowing how to do the work and knowing how to run a profitable business are two completely different things. Jay has taught me pricing, overhead, knowing my numbers, finding the right clients, and so much more. He even recommended Who Moved My Cheese? and Atomic Habits, and those books really made me look at my habits differently. But here’s the part I think contractors need to hear. It took me from April until August to actually make this stuff a habit. Consistency is what changed everything. Then one habit creates a domino effect, and suddenly you’re thinking differently about the whole business. And Jay makes it easy to be vulnerable. He’s a great teacher. He takes his time. He doesn’t make you feel stupid for not understanding something. He just keeps explaining it until it clicks. And look at this group. He doesn’t just let anybody in. He vets people because he genuinely wants the right guys here. That tells me this isn’t about money for him. He’s trying to pass down the knowledge he’s learned through years of trial and error. We need to protect that. The best way we can pay Jay back is by becoming successful, bringing good people into this community, and supporting the software and systems he’s built. Jay, thank you, Coach. I genuinely appreciate you.
