Feeling stuck
What do you do when you stuck with a track and nothing comes to you mind? You are half way through but no new ideas, no nothing. And every attempt makes it even worse.

@Anton Kholomiov I would never thought about using metaphoric cards in music creation. Very cool idea. Thank you

@Alan Epstein changing the instruments....wow! Thank you! I just understood that making it not like "it should" can bring a lot of fun and maybe some new ideas. How good it is to get out of the box🙏✨️🦋

Introducing serendipity into your workflow
Hi everyone, I wanted to open up a conversation about some production techniques that allow for “happy accidents.” I find this to be the most rewarding and just plain FUN part of producing, and I want to try to incorporate more of them into my workflow. I’ll start with something, although it’s quite basic: 1. I’ll take Sampler in Ableton, and load up a complex bass sound that has any kind of rhythm itself within the sample (it doesn’t have to be tempo synced to the grid at all) 2. In Sampler, create a loop point, then in the MIDI section you can assign the loop starting point to the mod wheel of your keyboard! 3. This means that now you can easily scroll through your sample and find interesting bits and rhythms that you likely would never have come up on your own. Simply play around with the sample on your keyboard until you find a section you like. Using the mod wheel for this is very fast and intuitive 4. You could do a similar thing with slices in Sampler, but I find that the above approach allows for more control and “weirdness” What kinds of techniques are you all using to introduce happy accidents? I’d love to hear them!
