Accountability check in! Add yours?
Hi Tribers! Below, I am following up w a few Tribers that raised their hands for accountability a few weeks back. What do you need accountability with? It doesn’t have to be piano related… It could be “I need you to follow up with me for getting more sleep” or “remind me to go to the gym”. 💕 I like to call these Gentle Nudges :) 💕 Mine is - I need an accountability on my packing progress. I am in a process of moving in a new home and it’s being hectic, slow process so far but making progress. I could use some encouragement and a gentle push :) 🌟Following up with: @Erika Cardinale “I’m currently in the process of getting my spare room organized so I can set up my keyboard. Today is Weds. Check back in with my next Friday to see how I am doing on that. Accountability is key!” How is this going Erica? @Justin Love “I need accountability to catch more zzzz and get to bed sooner 😴😅” Are you sleeping more, Justin? Did you find a routine that works out better for you to get more sleep? @Isabella Rebello “I’m holding myself accountable to keep showing up, both on the keys and with my weekly goals.” How is it going? Showing up for yourself and the keys and your weekly goals? @Phil Smith “For me, lots of reps. I want to record "Can't help falling in Love" without mistakes or hesitations. I want it in "Play" skill, not just "Practice" skill.” Phil, have you started “practicing” recording of Can’t Help But Falling in Love? Tell us in the comments YOURS! I will gentle nudge you in a week or so 🤪

@Rositsa Aleksandrova Thank you! I don't need a reminder since I have my plans written out. But reminders are still handy.
Sanity check? New composition
I am hosting a session soon, and realized that I wanted some calm, "reflection on past" background music to draw out memories and give something soothing to listen to while filling out a worksheet. so I thought... why not make it myself? However, I am still quite new to composing, and I would like a sanity check on my music - am I making any egregious musical faux pas with it? Would it work well as getting into the mood of memories and thinking of the past?

I don't know about it invoking memories, but I found it quite pleasant. I think it could work for many things - memories, relaxation, reflection on the day, or background for doing tasks.
Few Easier Songs Suggestions
Beginner to late beginner level wise, these songs use hand positions which helps you get used to playing without looking at your hands constantly. Also, we have harmonic and melodic intervals which helps you with your sight reading and are easily recognizable. And, of course works on your technic - especially when you increase the speed and hands coordination (few notes in one hand vs several in the other hand). Hope you like them or at least some of them! I played through so you have an idea what they sound like :) In the tribe, here, those of you who are sharing your progress, I can help better! These specific songs will be helpful (if you like them, of course!) for @Phil Smith, @Bella Hardy, @Justin Love & @Lisa Vanderveen. Maybe for many others?! 🤔 but I cannot read minds very well yet, so please share where you are at, don’t be shy! Would love to support you in your music journey! 😁🤗 Sharing the sheet music also! 🙌💕 Let me know if you have any questions! 🎹Will you play them?🎹

@Rositsa Aleksandrova Can you tell me what this squiggly arrow is for in the first image? Also, in the 2nd image, under the first arrow, the B note is flatted with the flat sign. In the same measure the B note appears again without the flat sign. But since there is no "Natural" sign that 2nd B note is still flatted, isn't it? Has @Justin Love run into this yet? This is from "Hiawatha" that you gave us, Ros.

@Rositsa Aleksandrova You are so kind. Thank you for confirming my question of the accidentals. And I don't know how I'm ahead of @Justin Love considering he is far ahead of me on Hayride. Actually, when it comes down to it, we are all awesome.
Easier?
We forget things that we don’t often do/practice. But it’s easier to get them back/remember than it was when we originally first learned them. This applies to everything - from driving a stick shift to playing piano 🎹 or accordion 🪗 to writing cursive 😂 Agree??

@Lisa Vanderveen Wedding nails? I'm out of the loop I guess. Did you recently get married?
Hayride… Is it good enough or do I need improvement?
Here is my latest rendition of Hayride. I came in with the mindset that it’s ok to mess up and that’s why I decided to post this clip on my first try, instead of taking multiple attempts to get it perfect. @Jake Phillips inspired me to do this as we are a very supportive group and always encourage positivity if you play perfect or not! So it’s ok to post at whatever piano level you are at! I hope everyone enjoys 🎹❤️🙌

As a retired individual residing in Kansas, I aspire to learn songs from artists such as Neil Diamond, classic Country songs, and improvisation.
