I love posting my practise in here
I love posting in here. A few days ago I posted a video of a little etude I wrote on a blues for myself over a blues. Ok, then what? 1. @Viktor Houf posted in comments his version! 2.Because I posted about what I was going to do with the etude for myself, I actually followed through and at every given opportunity with my violin I’ve been practicing it in 4 different keys. 3. il probably use this etude in my practise club for the next few weeks on Monday and really dig into it with everyone.

Blues Etude Challenge
I put this etude together for myself, it a bunch of stuff that I like to play on a blues in F. It doesn’t really stop, it’s not really the most musical thing I’ve put together but so wanted to solidify some ideas I already play in this key in some more difficult keys. Il be spending my practise time trying to play this whole thing in all 12 keys, I already tried Ab which has not been fun! My challenge for you is to record a version of you playing this in any key you want. It’s a difficult one this time, the first person who does this gets a free 30 minute lesson. Matt

ok this was fun, but how u can play in that tempo and keep the swinging feel at the same time, is beyond me 🙄
Tune of the Month-Coquette
This month in the Practise Club we are looking at the tune "Coquette". Check this excerpt of my etude of the month. (Transcription available for Premium and VIP members) We will be looking at little bits of this etude, taking it apart, practising it in different ways and using it to work on our own playing. 🏆Challenge 🏆 Record a video of yourself improvising over this backing track https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lcx7nV9ntaw For the first person to post a version I will create you a personalised exercise and a PDF with some advice on how to use it to further your playing.

attempt no.2.🤣 5 days of practising, reading transcriptions, stealing different licks from different guys and practising again, still not perfect(never will be) but now have to start playing something else otherwise my head´s gonna explode 😵

@Matt Holborn thx! as i said, there is a lot of stealing involved :) i still have a HUGE trouble with putting the learned licks in the praxis-i mean with the "classical" education i have still more or less no idea about those progressions jazz veterans like u are talking about(of course i know what tonic, dominant, dim etc. are, but the specific progressions-im still unable to see it in the music right away) therefore i have to do it the hard way- making short loops at YT with just 2 or 4 bars and repeating different licks with it until im dead 😂)but u were absolutely right with the "more scientific" approach. i got myself a subscription here and your etudes and theory really help! anyway, enough with Coquette right now, 40 hrs in last 5 days were enough 🥱. -by the way i have just seen your Avalon video on YT, thats CRAZY good....thanks again and have a good 1
