@Andrew Brooks I was in urgent care twice inside a week, but the new meds are finally helping me clear everything out. I haven't felt this bad since Covid almost took me out... but I am so grateful to be able to breathe again. I have some elderberry syrup and some teas and making a second batch of chicken soup...

📚 The MAIN Problems With Kids Books...
You would think creating a children’s book would be easy because the books are short, right? But honestly, writing the story is usually the easy part. It’s everything that comes AFTER the story that starts getting complicated. 😅 📖 𝟭. 𝗦𝗣𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗗𝗦 A spread is when an illustration spans across two facing pages of your book. They can look amazing, but formatting them correctly for print can be a challenge. You have to think about bleed, margins, the gutter, where your characters are positioned, and whether something important is going to disappear into the center of the book. Unless you’re using a program like InDesign or Affinity that can properly handle those layouts, this can become frustrating pretty quickly. 🤯 🎨 𝟮. 𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗨𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦 You can hire a professional illustrator, but depending on the book, that can easily cost thousands of dollars. 💸 AI has made illustration much more accessible, but it comes with its own problem: 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆. Your character looks perfect on page one, and then five pages later their face changes, their clothes are different, or suddenly they look like an entirely different kid. 😂 🔤 𝟯. 𝗧𝗘𝗫𝗧 𝗚𝗘𝗧𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗟𝗢𝗦𝗧 Another HUGE issue I see is text getting lost in the illustrations. 👀 I’ve seen so many DIY children’s books where the artwork is beautiful, but the text is sitting on top of a busy part of the image and becomes difficult to read. Or someone generates the text directly into the AI image, which creates another problem because now you can’t easily edit it when AI misspells something or creates those weird AI letters. 😵‍💫 Your text should remain editable and work 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 the illustration — not be permanently baked into it. 📱 𝟰. 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗩𝗘𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚 𝗧𝗢 𝗘𝗣𝗨𝗕 And then there’s the ebook. 😬 Sure, you can create a children’s book in Canva and get a PDF that works for print. But what happens when you want to publish the Kindle version? Children’s picture books often need a 𝗳𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱-𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗘𝗣𝗨𝗕 so the illustrations and text stay exactly where they’re supposed to be. Suddenly, you’ve added another technical formatting project to your plate.

@Krista Brea ok cool. As long as there is a way to compartmentalize that I think I might actually go for it just to get more familiar with this whole process and build confidence in publishing. I am going to join premium as my Christmas present (hopefully before December).

@Krista Brea People who want to understand their dreams, but look at everything out there: dream dictionaries, outdated theories and scattered information that has no practical application or "real information" for them to actually understand what is happening in their own dreams (without the need for a expert to weigh in or trusting ChatGPT to token predict something for them which is ultimately generic and often very inaccurate). So the base of this audience are people who have a connection to their self awareness and also fall into some of these categories: - people disappointed with depth psychology gurus, life coaches who make outrageous claims and therapists that pretend to know them better than they know themselves - those curious about lucid dreaming and the other fascinating aspects of beneficial sleep protocols (like learning in your sleep, working with their subconscious mind through sleep meditations, etc) without needing to hunt down the science or get a PhD. to begin building a practice to support their idea of dream exploration (biohackers in the mental health space, etc). - people who suffer from recurring nightmares and want them to stop (I will include information and practical way to translate the message within the nightmare that helps them complete whatever processing needs to happen to move forward). - people who used to have more vivid memorable dreams, but due to changes in routine or increasing stress have lost the ability to remember their dreams or feel like they do not even dream anymore and are curious about ways to reclaim this ability. - people that think dreams are fascinating, but suspect 99% of what is published and hyped right now is BS (which they are right for the most part). - people exhausted by magical thinking who want a science backed approach to aligning their consciousness without mystical dogmas or blindly investing in "hopes, dreams and slick marketing" I started writing the book based on the success I had working with clients and realized that much of what I was doing can be taught and systematized - so I did a pilot test to see how it would work and now it is ready to be shared.

@Krista Brea I think I bit off more than I could chew at first with Freud and Jung, but now... I am finally making a real dent. My "first book" anxiety definitely did a number on me. I almost wish I had created a test pilot book of sorts just to get through the learning curve before this book 'happened' to me. I was putting off making a. book and was going to just a build a course and then I made a workbook and then the rest of it just added itself on - but yes... I have to get to the completion phase and that is happening in 2026. I am going to be at least editing and doing all the other important things in December.

@Paul Chenoweth archetypes would be awesome if he didn't invent this evaporating definition of what they are... When I didn't dig all the way in I thought they were just the master template of mythology and anchored by the human experience (Heroes are obvious "omni-agentic" savior types which culture and religion and comic books borrow from putting their own spin)... but when he got into the whole they are not the image, myth, or narrative but something beneath the invisible and directly unknowable inheritance or "the formal 'tendency' to generate such cultural symbols" and then also describe as analogous to instinct "introspective correlates" is the term he used and then also speak of them as though they are complete outside of us and time itself like Platonic forms (but not the form itself) and then pivoting to archetypes are only activated by emotional engagement and highly individualized (yet a universal element more primitive than any culturally relevant symbol). Then the only prrof he provides is the thing he adamantly claims is not the thing and of course he never exlains the function and operation of emotionally activating this plantonic of the collective unconscious or how the personal unconscious (what most call the subconscious these days).... Oh I am still recovering from the psychological whiplash of aiming my earnest obsessive research function towards something so illogical and the fact it was able to be considered psychology at all and still holds as true? wow I love metaphysics and philosophy almost as much as psychology and I think the world might have came out a bit better if he had gave up the ghost and admitted this was a hybrid framework rather than something empirically evident. I also daydream about an alt reality where Alfred Adler championed Freud and what today would look like if people a hundred years ago understood human motivation and had cognitive sovereignty.... (this might turn into a romantasy satire when I finish this first book).
