Etsy vs Own Webshop
Curious how you guys approach this 👀 At what point would you start your own webshop next to Etsy? And in the long run, what would you consider a healthy sales split between Etsy and your own store? Something like 50/50, or should most sales eventually come from your own webshop? Would love to hear your experiences, if you’d like to share

Etsy is a huge help to get starting but it comes with a lot expenses(marketing, fees). Before bambulab came out I sold voron printed parts and mods. It was a slow start but after 5-6 months I got to point where I got about 10 sales per week but could keep only a third of the earning and I was thinking about my own Webshop. I invested my time in an own shop where AI wasn’t as good as today but after bambulab came out my sales broke down and it wasn’t worth for me anymore. Nowadays I would say if you already have some sales, invest the money to build a Webshop. With the current AI possibilities it won’t take long to make your own one. And having your one Webshop is always better than selling in Etsy but you need to do the marketing yourself. I would start with TikTok, that’s what’s always catching me 😂 Let both run at the same time but try to get your customers use your Webshop by advertising it
Who here is already making money with 3D printing?👀
Hi, I’m Tung from Germany. Really happy to be part of this community! 👋 I’ve been working with different companies and building all kinds of things like ceiling lamps, custom LED decorations, channel letters and more, mostly using 3D printing and CNC. Where are you from and what are you currently building or selling?😄

@Dmytro Vlasov that’s interesting, what products do you made with the laser?
Finding something to print and sell to start my business.
I’ve only been 3d printing about 4 months but love it and learning to design my own things. It’s so hard to find something you can sell. It just seems like everything that comes to my mind is already out there. I’m always brainstorming and I’ll get there but it is discouraging at times. Anyone else feel that way?

Like Dmytro said, you don't need to invent something new. Try to find a niche market, a product what is easy to produce with 3d printing or solving daily life problems. Don't aim to get high sales. Just start and make some products even if you only sell a few, it will motivates you. Otherwise you will thinking for to long and loose interests over time

My printers I got in this order Ender 3 Voron v2 A1 mini H2C still have all printers but some are disassembled😅
Filament
Where are we buying filament from? I’ve bought everything from aliexpress to Bambi directly. Mostly looking at price to performance. I’ve found that most filaments are pretty equal. Really depends on that kind of print and filament you are using. Printing mostly PETg and ASA. Would love some feedback. Thanks have a good day!

For me it depends on the usage and how quick i will need it(new color for example) I often do channel letters with LEDs with ASA from Polymaker. When i need it fast I buy from Amazon otherwise where I can get it for the cheapest price 😁 for Asa i use Polymaker because I had no warping and other issues with it unlike from esun or overture but maybe I got a bad spool PLA and PETG i buy from Bambu in batches of 5-10 spool for the discount but the problem is its always sold out so i try some other brand like Geetech or sometimes use esun PLA+
