Tuesday's Grief Support Group Topic
How many times have you thought about ways to honor someone — or something — you’ve lost without feeling like you have to stay stuck in the loss? What are some ways you’ve found to remember, acknowledge, or carry that connection forward without letting the grief completely take over? Share your answers here and join the discussion this Tuesday when we navigate this here in our group!

Not overworking myself and honoring my mother's advice is one way. Still doing my bike ride or walk that I did with Bella is another way I carry the love forward!
Has anyone ever told you that loss can affect your identity?
We talk a great deal about the emotional pain that follows loss. We talk much less about what happens when the person, role, relationship, routine, or future you lost was also part of the answer to: “Who am I?” I call this experience identity erosion. It can sound like: “I know what happened, but I don’t know who I am anymore.” “Everyone thinks I’m doing better because I’m functioning.” “I don’t necessarily want my old life back—but I don’t know what the new one is.” “The roles I used to have no longer fit.” I’d love to hear from you: Which feels harder right now—the loss itself, or figuring out who you are after it?

Yes, life after loss has changed my responsibilities and my role as I face each day.
