The foundation of strength, success, and victory for a man isn’t grit, toughness, or courage—it’s humility. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.” So humility isn’t optional—it’s essential. When a man humbles himself, God lifts him up at the right time. The key isn’t isolation or self-sufficiency. The key is humility, followed by obedience.

When I was a young boy a man of God told me something that stuck with me to this day: “Never put yourself in a situation in which you can’t stop what you’re doing to go seek God.”
