TOPIC: The Parable of the Sower (Sowing & Seed Heart) TODAY'S SCRIPTURE “A sower went out to sow… some fell along the path, and the birds came and devoured it… other seed fell on rocky ground… other fell among thorns… and other fell on good soil…” — Matthew 13:3–9 (ESV) “Hear then the parable of the sower… the seed sown on good soil… is the one who hears the word and understands it… and bears fruit…” — Matthew 13:18–23 (ESV) TODAY'S WORD This parable is not mainly about “farming”—it’s about SPIRITUAL RECEPTION. Jesus shows that the same seed (God’s Word) can land differently depending on the condition of the heart. 1) ALONG THE PATH: the Word is heard, but immediately stolen. Hardened hearts resist God’s promptings. There is no depth—only surface hearing. We must make space for God to speak before distraction, offense, and noise take the Word away. 2) ROCKY GROUND: immediate response, shallow roots. People receive with joy, but when pressure comes, they collapse. Real faith involves endurance—rootedness through prayer, Scripture, and obedience. 3) AMONG THORNS: the Word is crowded by worries and pleasures. The heart is divided. Faith exists, but it competes. We must identify what “thorns” our lives—anxiety, materialism, unhealthy desires—then deliberately prune them. 4) GOOD SOIL: hearing, understanding and endurance leads to fruit. Spiritual maturity grows when the heart aligns with truth. The goal is not just hearing the Word; it’s bearing fruit—visible character and actions. Your “soil” determines your harvest. Ask God to soften, root, and clear your heart so His Word can produce fruit. PRAYER FOR TODAY Father, open my heart to receive Your Word. Remove hardness, deepen my roots, and pull out thorns that compete with Your will. Make my life a good soil that bears fruit for Your glory. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

TOPIC: The Significance of Altars TODAY'S SCRIPTURE “Then Moses built an altar… and he called it The Lord is my Banner.” — Exodus 17:15 (KJV) TODAY'S WORD Altars carry meaning: 1. Memory — “I remember what God did.” 2. Direction — “I choose God’s way again.” 3. Authority — “God rules my battles.” 4. Identity — “God is my Banner; I stand with Him.” Moses naming an altar wasn’t just decoration—it was testimony and spiritual strategy. An altar is a spiritual marker that God is your banner. PRAYER FOR TODAY Father, help me remember Your faithfulness and testify with my life. Strengthen my spiritual memory so I don’t forget lessons from past victories. In Jesus’ name. Amen. Godly altars don’t make God smaller—they make us humbler. TOPIC: Does God Approve of Altars? TODAY'S SCRIPTURE “If you offer your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there… first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.” — Matthew 5:23–24 (ESV) TODAY'S WORD Jesus acknowledges altars as real in worship life—but He demands true heart alignment. This means: - God approves worship with a clean heart. - God rejects worship that is disconnected from obedience and reconciliation. So the answer is: Yes, God can approve altars when they serve holiness and genuine devotion. An altar is validated by a surrendered life and right relationships. PRAYER FOR TODAY Lord, let my worship come from a pure heart. Teach me reconciliation—repair what I should repair. Keep me from hypocrisy. Make my altar acceptable to You. In Jesus’ name. Amen. TODAY'S SCRIPTURE “So Jacob called the place Bethel, and said, ‘This is the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.” — Genesis 28:17 (ESV) TODAY'S WORD An altar is a place (or posture) where you offer something to God—worship, consecration, repentance, thanksgiving, and obedience. Jacob didn’t just “find a spot”; he encountered God and responded with devotion. How can one “build/raise” an altar for himself? You can’t always build a literal stone altar, but you can raise a spiritual altar by: - MAKING ROOM FOR GOD (intentional devotion, prayer time, quietness) - OFFERING YOUR HEART (repentance and surrender) - OFFERING YOUR Life (obedience, integrity, serving others) - KEEPING THE ALTAR “ALIVE” (consistent worship, not only occasional emotion) Your altar is not just where you kneel—it’s what you surrender. PRAYER FOR TODAY Father, teach me how to build a living altar. Help me set my heart to meet You daily. Remove distractions, strengthen my discipline, and let my worship be sincere.
