I can write an email asking a business to support wildfire relief, but asking somebody to book MY keynote takes a whole different kind of nerve. 😂 Same keyboard. Same person. Suddenly I’m checking every sentence like it’s going to court. I’ve been sending sponsorship emails for the telethon and putting myself forward for speaking opportunities, and that difference is hard to miss. Apparently I’m much more comfortable explaining why someone else’s project matters. For those of you selling your own products or services, what helped you get comfortable making the actual offer? And please don’t just say confidence… where are we buying that and is there a coupon? 😂
