With me, I've found that the sun helps dilate the blood vessel and allows easier transportation of glucose through my veins. I am type-1 and have noticed this when camping and eating breakfast outside in thr morning sun. It really is an interesting thing. Thought I was crazy at first when my blood sugar would drop but then noticed the trend.
๐Ÿšจ The "Healthy" Lifestyle That's Actually Destroying You
Hypoglycemia is as damaging as diabetes, but doctors ignore it because there's no pill to prescribe. Meanwhile, you're suffering with symptoms that are ruining your life. ๐Ÿšซ Sound Familiar? - Missing meals to avoid getting "fat" - Getting shaky and grabbing candy for quick relief - Using coffee all day instead of eating actual food - Long gaps: dinner at 6pm, first meal at 11am or later - Over-training without eating enough โš ๏ธ The Red Flags: - Irritable and angry when you miss meals - Shaky hands and internal trembling - Dependent on coffee just to function - Eating instantly relieves your fatigue (MAJOR red flag!) - Waking up at 1-3am and can't get back to sleep ๐ŸŒ™ Why You Wake Up at 3am: Your blood sugar drops โ†’ Your brain needs glucose โ†’ Cortisol gets released to wake you up โ†’ Your liver makes emergency sugar ๐Ÿฅ— The "Vegetarian" Trap: Thinking you're healthy because you're "vegetarian" but you're just eating carbs, snacks, breads, and pasta all day. That's not vegetarian nutrition - that's sugar addiction with a health halo. ๐Ÿ’ก The Reality Check: If you're tired, can't sleep, feel shaky between meals, and eating instantly makes you feel better - you likely have hypoglycemia. But here's the thing... ๐Ÿค” Most people think they need to eliminate all carbs or go keto to fix this. WRONG. The solution isn't about restriction - it's about strategic blood sugar stabilization that works with your body's natural rhythms. ๐ŸŽฏ EXCITING NEWS: I'm putting together a Blood Sugar Mastery Challenge that will teach you: โœ… How to eat for stable energy ALL DAY (no more 3pm crashes) โœ… The exact meal timing that prevents hypoglycemic episodes โœ… Which "healthy" foods are actually spiking your blood sugar โœ… The simple morning routine that sets you up for success โœ… How to exercise without triggering blood sugar chaos This isn't another restrictive diet. This is about finally understanding how YOUR body processes food so you can feel energized, sleep deeply, and stop being a slave to your next meal

Thank you! Dr's never talk about this. They say "it brought your a1c down". Idiots. Having type 1, I know first hand what bring hypo does to your body. Every organ start to purge, heart rate jumps, anger, can't focus, don't even think about talking. The body goes in to an eat every thing Mode. I am useless until I get a night's sleep after a hypo. Far worse than high sugar. Wouldn't wish that on my biggest enemy.
๐Ÿšจ Are You Missing These Early Warning Signs of Pre-Diabetes?
Most people don't realize they're developing insulin resistance until it's too late. Your body may be sending you subtle signals that something is changing. Here's what to watch for: โš ๏ธ Common Symptoms You Might Be Overlooking - Constant fatigue, especially after meals - Stubborn weight that won't budge despite your efforts - Random joint or muscle pain - Mood changes and feelings of depression - Hair thinning, particularly on legs and ankles - Fertility issues (often linked to PCOS in women) - Skin discoloration ๐Ÿ‘€ Daily Warning Signs These everyday experiences might seem normal, but they could indicate glucose regulation problems: - Feeling drowsy 15-20 minutes after lunch - Craving sweets immediately after finishing meals - Needing that second cup of coffee with extra sugar - Late-night trips to the kitchen for ice cream or snacks - Falling asleep on the couch after dinner - More frequent bathroom trips ๐Ÿ”ฌ What's Happening in Your Body When your body struggles with glucose regulation, that stubborn belly fat isn't just a cosmetic concern. It's actively disrupting your hormone balance: For men: Testosterone converts to estrogen, leading to mood swings and other changes For women: Estrogen converts to testosterone, potentially causing unwanted hair growth and acne ๐Ÿ” Contributing Factors Several lifestyle factors can worsen insulin resistance: - Processed foods high in added sugars - Social eating pressures that lead to poor food choices - Lack of fiber to help moderate blood sugar spikes - Chronic stress that keeps cortisol levels elevated ๐Ÿ˜ฐ - Poor sleep quality, which research shows disrupts glucose regulation Key Numbers to Monitor ๐Ÿ“Š If you're concerned about pre-diabetes, ask your doctor to check these levels: - Fasting blood sugar: 100-126 mg/dL indicates pre-diabetes - Hemoglobin A1C: 5.7-6.4% suggests pre-diabetes Why Early Action Matters Don't wait for a full diabetes diagnosis. Even in the pre-diabetic stage, your microvascular system may already be experiencing damage. This explains symptoms like hair loss, cold toes and persistent fatigue.

And one that many people miss. If you can stand excessive heat without sweating... you are more than likely diabetic.
The Gut Bacteria That Could Reverse Type 2 Diabetes ๐Ÿฆ
Are you struggling with blood sugar control despite following your doctor's advice? What if I told you that a single bacteria in your gut might hold the key to naturally managingโ€”and potentially reversingโ€”type 2 diabetes? As a functional medicine doctor, I regularly test my patients' gut microbiomes, and there's one particular bacteria that consistently shows up as deficient in those with metabolic issues. Today, let's explore this fascinating connection between your gut health and blood sugar control. Meet Your Metabolic Superhero: Akkermansia Muciniphila ๐ŸŒŸ Discovered in 2004, Akkermansia muciniphila (let's call it "AM" for short) is what we call a "keystone bacteria." This microscopic powerhouse: - Makes up 1-5% of your entire gut microbiome - Lives in the mucous lining of your GI tract - Represents about 0.5% of bacteria in your small intestine (where nutrient absorption happens) - Functions as one of approximately 25 live bacteria species in your gut's protective mucous layer Here's what's fascinating: in my clinical practice, I run extensive stool tests, and I rarely see high AM levels. Almost everyone is deficient! This deficiency is strongly linked to some serious health conditions. The AM Connection to Metabolic Health ๐Ÿ“Š Low AM levels are associated with: - Obesity - Type 2 diabetes - Inflammatory bowel disease High AM levels (less common) are sometimes linked to: - IBS-C (constipation-predominant irritable bowel syndrome) - Parkinson's disease - Multiple sclerosis Since most of my patients fall into that first category, let's focus on how low AM impacts your metabolism and what we can do about it. How AM Actually Controls Your Blood Sugar ๐ŸŽฏ Here's where it gets really exciting. AM works through several powerful mechanisms: 1. Mucus Layer Regeneration ๐Ÿ›ก๏ธ AM breaks down mucus (mucin) in your gut lining, which triggers your epithelial cells to produce fresh, protective mucus. This creates a stronger barrier against harmful particles, viruses, and bacteria entering your bloodstream.

The Egg Myth ๐Ÿฅš
Still avoiding eggs because your doctor told you they're "bad for your heart"? You've been following outdated advice based on flawed research that's been debunked for years. As a functional medicine doctor, I constantly see patients who've been unnecessarily restricting one of nature's most perfect foods. It's time to crack open the truth about eggs and cardiovascular health. What the REAL research shows: ๐Ÿ“Š A massive meta-analysis involving 23 studies and over 1.2 MILLION participants revealed something shocking: eating more than one egg per day was NOT associated with increased cardiovascular disease risk. In fact, it was associated with a SIGNIFICANT reduction in coronary artery disease risk! But wait, there's more.... Another study followed 36 people for 14 weeks, giving them one egg daily. The results were remarkable: - Increased HDL ("good" cholesterol) - Increased large LDL particles (the safer kind) - Enhanced plasma antioxidants Here's what most doctors don't understand about LDL particles: size matters! Small, dense LDL particles easily embed into damaged arteries and form plaque. Large LDL particles? They're much safer and less likely to cause problems. The cholesterol myth exposed: ๐Ÿ” One egg contains about 187-212mg of cholesterol. But here's the kicker - even consuming 1,000mg of dietary cholesterol only increases your total cholesterol by a measly 11 points! Your liver produces most of your body's cholesterol, and when you eat more cholesterol, your liver simply makes less. It's a beautiful self-regulating system. Why eggs are nutritional powerhouses: ๐ŸŒŸ Beyond heart health, eggs provide: - Complete, high-quality protein for muscle building - Choline for optimal brain function - Vitamin D and B-complex vitamins - Lutein and zeaxanthin for eye health and macular degeneration prevention - Selenium for thyroid support Not all eggs are created equal! ๐Ÿ“ Skip the "cage-free" marketing gimmicks. What you want are TRUE pasture-raised eggs from chickens that roam freely outdoors, eating bugs, worms, and high-quality feed. These eggs contain the highest concentration of nutrients and omega-3 fatty acids.
