When no one is looking, I am my best friend, worst enemy, superhero and ruler of my world.

I tend to re-build a portion of the protective wall I have around myself, my feelings and my heart. Many years ago, someone broke through that imaginary wall I had built for myself, where I could "shut off" my feelings and go into self protective mode. Recently I have found that I need to reenforce part of that "wall" due to life's circumstances.

Well said, it seems like it is easier for some of us to ignore or avoid a difficult situation, even though we know it is wrong just so we are not rocking the boat or being accused as pot-stirrers. This happens a lot with my current employment situation, and it is sometimes difficult to stand up for what is right when you are scolded for it by your supervisors.

I inherited the belief that I am not worthy for anything. That I have to work twice as hard as the person next to me to even make eye contact with my teacher/mentor. I overcome many things by maintaining a good sense of humor, but even then I get slapped down and told to take things more seriously, "Leave the slapstick at home" I have been told by a former supervisor.

My body tells me that it is time to slow down, do I always listen, no. It usually starts as a migraine, then moves to a slight cough, then the crohns will kick in and I finally have to say "ENOUGH!"
