Orient Bambino dress watch
Orient punching above its weight as usual. I picked this up for $200 because I was sent on an extended business trip on very short notice. And a G-Shock Rangeman doesn’t cover all occasions.

Quartz or Automatic Movement
Which do you prefer...? The practicality, reliability, high accuracy and low maintenance for everyday use of a quartz movement or the mechanical artistry of watchmaking, with an automatic movement where the watch is more than just a time-keeping tool.

@Jeremy B A quartz dress watch? Yuck.

It depends on the situation. I love a good multi-function G-shock when I'm working. But also love a vintage automatic or manual wind at higher "spiff" levels.

It’s pretty. Not budget! Has a 28,800 VPH movement. Generally considered a “super-replica.” Gains 8 sec/day.

Casio GDB200-1 Bluetooth G-Shock
I’ve got a weakness for Casios. They seem to hit the “heck that’s a lot of functionality for a damn cheap price” button in me. This one has an actually readable negative display and links to phones via Bluetooth. It also measures steps and paired with the phone will record routes. I pointedly DON’T wear smart watches, so this one bugs me a bit when it chips with incoming text messages and calls from my phone. I’ll turn that feature off when I get a chance… But if you need that functionality? Can’t beat $116 new on eBay…

Another of the Casio line of G-Shocks. This is a big guy at 52.5mm diameter. Looks great on my 8.5” wrist. No solar or radio sync on this one. Just old school quartz/digital goodness. Let’s see how well it keeps time. I’m always a bit leery of the negative (white on black) black displays. They LOOK really cool but can be hard to see in low light. Time will tell.
