Whew! This movie was🔥🔥🔥4 Me! I'm reminded of my journey as a small child during the so-called civil rights movement, with the riots, burning , looting and Black Panthers in town. This movie caused me to pause and reflect on that timeline from the images and depictions on the walls in Roman's apartment. No mention was made of his mother, only his forceps birth which possibly contributed to his Savant status. However, Roman lived a simple secluded lifestyle as a well versed Lawyer of 40 years dating back to the civil rights days. Somehow, I'm reminded of this first time I had a courtroom experience that had a huge impact on my 19 year young mind. I'm sitting in court and realized during the Recess, that the Prosecutor and the Defendants Attorney were making plans to hang out and go fishing the following weekend with their son's again??? How? They had just spent an entire week "fighting each other..." Or was it all fake? I was in shock before they turned to look at me. At that moment I wanted to be a Lawyer and make a difference, but I didn't feel adequate enough I actually felt defeated. That young man on trial is my Uncle and was given 2 life sentences for something he didn't do 42 years ago. Similar to Roman J. Israel, I've lived and operated from the shadows all the while carrying a huge bag of pain, grief and empathy for people on that Assembly-line Rubber Stamped Journey. I'm not sure how or even if Qui Tam applies to this BS, but I'd gladly lead the charge. There comes a time when we all get the memo to do something to make it better, but will we come out of the shadows and into the light of Love for our fellow Man/Woman/Children armed to fight trough the muck and help resolve anything? It appears Roman was definitely not versed in Court Rules and Procedures😉and zero tolerance for their Legal Reasoning for Profit💰I digress and this is just IMO. Gratitude again
