Pat Conroy’s books are some of the best that I’ve read. My favorites of his are MY READING LIFE and THE WATER IS WIDE.
Weekly Genre Specific Virtual Meetups
Hey Guys, I have setup our calendar of events to include weekly virtual meetups covering specific genres you guys read and write in. Each genre will roll around every 5 weeks as we have 10 Macro Genres we will be covering. Those Genres are: 1) Non-Fiction 2) Memoir/Biography 3) Mystery/Thriller 4) Science Fiction/Fantasy 5) Literary Fiction 6) Young Adult (YA)/Children's Literature 7) Horror/Supernatural/Paranormal 8) True Crime 9) Historical Fiction 10) Romance Once we get these weekly meetups established and running smoothly, we can then focus on the Regional Virtual Meetups so you guys can build relationships with authors that live in the same region as you. I have the meeting setup on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 7:00pm central because I run a transportation company and I cannot Commit to anything earlier than that. Hopefully some brave souls out there will want to step up and become a community leader by co hosting these events with us. Anyways, let see how this goes and then we can build from there! MORE ABOUT ME AND CONNECTING
Here is more specific information about my current publishing experience: I have published 3 books, PLAY AND PLAY PIANO BOOK REVISED STUDENT EDITION, PLAY AND PLAY PIANO BOOK REVISED TEACHER'S EDITION, and PLAY AND PLAY RESOURE GUIDE. The piano books are for teaching beginning students piano in a small group setting exclusively using singing games. Each page in the student book has a picture to color which is very helpful with piano class management in the small group setting. The teacher edition has the game instructions and music instructions on the left side, and the right side is the exact student page. The Resource Guide gives information about setting up and successfully managing a profitable piano studio. Also included are complete lesson plans and reproductible materials for conducting a 5-day piano summer camp. I have a YouTube channel that highlights the piano book including YouTube shorts of children actively engaged in piano class, demonstrating the games, tips for the group piano setting and using singing games. I have written 3 children's musicals and had them piloted several times by different music teachers. I want to get these published. I have a children's book that I want to publish. I am looking forward to getting information and help with these things: 1. marketing my existing books 2. publishing children's books 3. publishing children's musicals My website: www.dianeplayandplays.com My YouTube channel: @PlayandPlayinPianoClasskp2nv I would love to connect with anyone who could share their expertise, advice, etc. I am also happy to share what I've been success with so far myself.

What Genre Do You Write In?
We just had our first coffee Hour Meetup and some fantastic ideas have been spun out of them. The idea I want to work on is this? I would like to start having regional Virtual Coffee Hour Meetups so that the Authors in certain regions of the country can come together and become friends. Every time a new author joins us we can direct them to the regional meetups so they can start building relationships with authors near them. Also regional meetup events can be done by Big Book Love Regional Leaders. The second idea is to start having Virtual Coffee Hour Meetups for Genres that authors write in so that you guys can mastermind together with authors writing what you are writing. Before we can start this, there is some information that we need to get from you guys. 1. What genre is your main genre you write in? 2. Would you be interested in these localized virtual meetups and genre specific meetups? 3. What days and times are best for you to get online for these meetups? 4. Would you be interested in becoming a Virtual Coffee Hour Regional Leader? Regional Leaders would be made into moderators for the community and you would have the ability to host these meetups right here in our live call zoom room. I would train each Regional Leader so that you understand how the software works. Just throwing this idea out there to gauge interest. Comment below your answers so we can begin to figure how to make this work for the most amount of people.+ Paul Roberson Community Executive Director https://www.bigbooklove.com/paul-l-roberson/

I'm a little unsure of how I should list my genre(s) since I've written piano books for children. Here are the categories I chose from the list on Ingram Spark: JUVENILE NONFICTION / Music / Instruction & Study JUVENILE NONFICTION / Music / Instruments I also want to add Children's Literature because I have a children's book to publish.
Coffee Hour Meet Up
I enjoyed the coffee hour meet up last evening. I am looking forward to the next one. I can see how this site is a wonderful place to network, to learn, and to share.
