Trisha - Thanks SO MUCH for the replay!!! The 19th was our last dress rehearsal before Press Night on the 23rd. Last night (26th) was Opening Night so a late night and finally had time to watch the replay tonight after the show. So we have moved from nightly rehearsals Mon-Thurs to performances Thurs-Sat (and 2 Sun. afternoons) over the next 4 weeks! But kudos to the cast...they are "killing it". Tough musical (Little Shop of Horrors)!!!

@Trisha Modeen Tradition says that it is bad luck to say "good luck" so traditionalists and those that are superstitious say "Break a leg!" LOL!! Thanks for the good wishes. Opening night was a success with a nearly sold-out crowd and last night was just as good. It's gonna be a LONG 4 weeks!

My name is Diane and I live in the Florida Keys. I am totally self-taught and completed my first quilt in April of 2012 (Thank God I learned about labels when making that first one!) and have completed over 100 quilts, including 5 (I think) T-shirt Quilts for other people. Have finally gathered my own and will start it soon. The last T-shirt quilt I made was actually 1 shirt short. Since it was a memory quilt of a recently deceased spouse, I "created another shirt" by embroidering the otherwise discarded back of one of the shirts with "In Loving Memory of the late spouse's full name and his date of birth and date of death". My first t-shirt quilt was for our "make-up girl" at our Community Theater so I embroidered make-up and "theater" motifs on the sashings of the quilt. One of the 5 was a memory wall hanging for a friend. They sent me a copy of the picture used on his friend's funeral memory card. I enlarged it and printed it on fabric and used that as the center block on the wall hanging...I was so relieved that it worked since he was only able to get a few of his friend's shirts. Attaching a pic of my first t-shirt quilt and a close-up of some of the sashing embroidery. Looking back, I would have done several things differently on this quilt, but the owner still loves it!
GIF Friday!
I just did something really fun in another group. Thought I would do a Quilt Version: In the comments use 3 GIF's to show what your T-Shirt Quilt Story would be! I'll go first.

@Trisha Modeen Thanks, Trisha! I have done several T-shirt quilts (4 commissioned) but getting ready to start my own soon - FINALLY. My late husband and I met as Hot Air Balloon Pilots, so the first one will be from the plethora of t-shirts in a box that came from events we each flew our balloons in. Will eventually do a "My Life Interests/Activities" if I live long enough 🤣! Thought I would join in to see if I could pick up any hints/tips I may not be aware of since I am totally video or self-taught in this quilting journey. No one in my family sewed so only had the one half-year sewing class in Home Ec in high school (53 years ago 🤫). If you are part of another group on Skool, is the cost of the paid class the same??

Skill Builder Tuesday!🪡
Today we will be talking all things T-Shirts in our Community Skill Builder. Do you have a stack or box of T-shirts or clothing you have been saving? Are you ready to start sorting through them to pick the ones that go in the quilt you want to make? Tonight at 7:00pm CST/8:00 EST I will be live right here in Skool talking all things t-shirts. Share a t-shirt from your stack or tell me what your stack is about ⬇️.
