Hi there! I’m still taking Royal camping and honestly we are making steady progress. I know not to just run into the trailer to get something without Jim outside (the dogs are secured to trees). That’s when she decides to charge at things she was previously ignoring. But there is one family in our friend group that she has charged and bitten before (pre Arsenal). She seems to still charge barking and scare them even though they have been standing there talking with us and all was fine till they started moving. They are not agreeing to sit and drop treats anywhere near her, don’t blame them. What is the best way to work with them and Royal to try and come to some truce. Honestly the more they keep their distance, the worse it is getting when they walk into her area by mistake. Everyone else she is doing really well with. Thankyou

Thx Jess ! I can’t get a muzzle to fit her triangle shaped head so I’ll try something I have instead. A walk first is a great idea !
If you have a dog - you need to listen!
Give Yourself (and Your Dog) Grace 🐾 Remember the last time you learned a new skill? Maybe it was cooking a new recipe, learning to snowboard, or figuring out that confusing tech setup (hello, smart TV remotes 🙃). Did it happen overnight? Probably not. It took time, repetition, maybe a few mistakes—and lots of patience. Your dog’s training journey is no different. They’re learning a new language. They may be re-writing some bad habits. And you are learning how to communicate clearly and consistently in that language too. So if today didn’t go perfectly… 🐾 If your dog didn’t do what you asked 🐾 If you lost your patience 🐾 If it all felt messy Pause. Breathe. Reset. Give yourself grace. Give your dog grace. Progress, not perfection, is the goal. Consistency over time beats quick fixes every time. Remember, we help you condense the timeframe, but that doesn’t mean instant gratification always! You’ve got this—and we’re here to guide you every step of the way. If you’re struggling, here is a list of things you can do: If you’re in our VIP program: - Attend the monthly group classes (this is a must!) - Attend the ZOOM calls - Watch and utilize the Hybrid Course that outlines the program your dog has learned PLUS bonus tips. - Reach out to Amy, or anyone on the team if you’re struggling (as soon as you can - don’t just sit on it!) If you’re not a VIP member: - I highly recommend you renew your VIP monthly at $47/month. - Still reach out to us and we can book you in for a session, or do a refresher! We are still here to support you. Please comment below if you took the time to watch this! 💥

Thanks Jenna! I feel Like my dog keeps me honest - if she is falling back into the old patterns, I realize I have been busy and preoccupied and inconsistent. We keep each other honest ❤️
A Dose of Perspective: Rethinking Our Expectations of Dogs
In this photo you see two species, a human and a dog. The human has approximately 15 billion neurons in their brain while the canine has approximately 500 million. This is a comparison of the two species and the silly expectations people place on dogs: 1) Human - Given two plus years to accomplish potty training. 1) Canine - Human wants canine potty trained in two weeks or they will have to rehome the dog....Please take the diaper off your eight month old human and let them crawl around your floor, lets just see the results.... 2) Human - Gives human babies pain relievers and various numbing agents to help appease the pain of teething. 2) Canine - Demands Dog Trainer tells them how to reprimand their dog for chewing. 3) Human - Encourages young humans to run and play with endless forms of mental and physical stimulation. 3) Canine - “I have got to teach this dog to calm down!!!” 4) Human - Given 20 plus years to complete an education and become a productive member of society. 4) Canine - Expected to behave flawlessly after 3 weeks of training. 5) Human - Given sick and personal days from work and endless excuses for poor performance. 5) Canine - Expects to perform perfectly 365 days a year with no questions asked. Canines are also not allowed to feel bad or forget. This image is more than just a moment shared between a human and a dog—it is a reminder of the empathy, patience, and understanding our canine companions deserve. Despite the vast neurological and developmental differences between our species, we often impose human expectations on dogs without allowing for their natural growth, learning curves, and emotional needs. Let this serve as a gentle call for grace: to meet dogs where they are, to teach with compassion rather than demand perfection, and to remember that just like us, they are living beings navigating a complex world the best they can.

Great post, thanks Jason. Patience is key and we do get frustrated at times but there is always progress. I took Royal with me to be at the finish line for the marathon yesterday to cheer on my daughter and it was so so crowded. Royal was so good and happy she knew my daughter’s boyfriend there. Then she will react at almost nothing another day and I’m thinking “What the heck?”. But humans have their bad days too. Thx for the reminder !
