🏆 WEEKLY COMP #13: THE TRANSLATOR 🏆
🎁 $1,000 IN EDUBAWARE CREDITS 🎁 One winner takes it. 📋 THE CHALLENGE Build a folder-based AI translator that takes one kind of work and turns it into another kind of work. Same shape in, same shape out, every time. Not a summarizer. Not a writer. A converter with a contract. This week's deliverable is one translator folder that someone could drop into a Claude project, feed it the input it expects, and get back the output it promises. Every time. Without surprises. 🎯 PICK YOUR CONVERSION The conversion is yours. Pick one you do by hand right now and hate. A few sparks to get you thinking: - 📞 Sales call transcript → CRM notes in your team's exact fields - 📝 Long-form essay → LinkedIn carousel, slide by slide - 🎙️ Meeting recording → product requirements doc - 🔬 Research paper → investor one-pager - 🐛 Bug report thread → Jira ticket with repro steps - 📧 Customer email → support ticket with severity and category - 📊 Spreadsheet export → weekly status update - 📖 Interview transcript → case study draft - 🧾 Receipt photos described in text → expense report line items - 📋 Discovery call notes → SOW first draft The more locked-down the output, the better. "Turns notes into a doc" is not a contract. "Turns discovery call notes into a five-section SOW where section 3 is always scope exclusions" is. 🔥 THE ANGLE THIS WEEK Last comp was The Auditor. Every finding cited a provision so a reader could open the standard and check. The comp before that was The Cartographer. Every card cited a file and a line so a reader could open the source and check. The Translator is the same discipline, one more time. Every line in the output traces to a line in the input. ↔️ A translator has three properties that a summarizer does not: 1. The output has a fixed shape. Same fields, same order, same format, regardless of what the input looked like. If the input was messy, the output is still clean. If the input was short, the output still has every field, marked empty where there was nothing to fill it.

repo: https://github.com/Dkrem444/allergen-translator Converts one recipe into a fixed-format allergen matrix covering the US FDA 9 and EU/UK 14 declarable allergens, where every result cites the recipe line and the lookup-table row it came from, and anything the table can't place is marked unresolved instead of guessed. Restaurant managers and consultants do this by hand today, reading recipes one at a time and typing allergens into a spreadsheet or compliance tool before anything reaches a guest. The repo ships five real inputs (including a raw 172-line web page paste), their outputs, and verification.md, which traces one output claim by claim.
Grandma passed and my uncle has cancer
Hey y'all, not a sympathy post. This isn't me saying I'm taking time off for anything. In fact it's the opposite. My grandma passed away last week and I was cleaning out her apartment with my mother and talking to my aunt (both of them it was their mother). I can tell they're struggling. It's why I work so hard honestly on the software community on everything else. Almost none of the money goes to me. I give it to my family, my wife my friends. It's what makes me happy. I'm building a company specifically so my family doesn't have to struggle. Been helping out where I can but obviously been focusing a lot on the business. My uncle also has cancer and so my aunt has been taking care of him and also at the same time dealing with a death of her mother . Best way I can contribute has been through cash and some love here are there. With that though means I don't always have the time to do what I need to do. So honestly, I'm asking for your help if you're willing to donate to my aunt's GoFundMe on top of the help that I'm giving. I've just donated a bit and would love other people to help out. To me, if I work hard I can make sure that my whole family is taken care of. But in the small ways I can help where I can I will do my best too And that goes with asking for help from others. So if you all could help me out help them out. That would be amazing https://gofund.me/45b6655ba

Sorry to hear about your loss Jake. Wish you and your family the best. The gofundme link seems to be broken. It is saying 502 bad gateway when I click on it.
🏆 WEEK 5 COMP WINNER 🏆
Yet again making this SO hard to decide, I am bringing together a rubric just to be able to really break these down its getting so close. OVER 37 ENTRIES. Spent all day today looking at YouTube Videos, testing apps, reading through markdown files. Going to spotlight six (no particular order), then a few thoughts on where this is heading as well as the winner out of everyone. 🥊 @Ariel Ortiz , The Praeceptor Honest read: if Ariel had been premium last week, he was the winner and again this week easily can take home the prize but more importantly they are premium now! He went premium and somehow raised his own bar. Idea for a Native iOS app in Swift 6 , three YouTube videos including a 4:28 behind-the-build, voice mode pipeline, 17 operator extractions (Grove, Munger, Walsh, Aurelius, Naval, more). Hero copy reads "A room. Not an app." which was really a great hook, one of those opening lines that makes you very curious right off the rip. What I'd take from Ariel beyond this comp: he treats every brief like a product launch. Even the video stack alone is a walk towards the idea that distribution matters as much as tech now. 🔗 https://praeceptor-web.vercel.app 🔗 https://github.com/orteug/the-praeceptor 📹 https://youtu.be/Cfs1KAC2Ry0 🔥 @Ruby Sparks , The Gut Mechanic Ruby's a monster. Every week crushes it without a doubt. The landing pivots from consumer pain into a B2B sales pitch in one stat (the $530B-lost-to-employee-health number) and her voice across the entire page is sharper than what most paid brand consultants ship. She also created an ENTIRE skool community for it. Which is a win in its self. Twenty years of chronic illness in the founder story. IG, Skool, a 14-minute course, B2B framing layered into the consumer hook so the consumer side does discovery and the B2B side does monetization.
