Hi everyone! 👋 Where I'm from: I currently live in Northern Maryland, but I'm originally from Washington, DC. Who I am: I'm a recent retiree from the Federal government. Earlier in my career, from 2003 to 2007, I worked as a contractor for the Agency for Persons with Disabilities in Florida, providing services under the Medicaid Waiver program. Why I joined Vet Housing University: I feel called to a new mission — housing North Carolinian veterans, seniors, and individuals with mental and developmental challenges. This community felt like the right place to learn from others who've walked this path and to share my own journey along the way. What I hope to accomplish: In my previous business, I struggled at nearly every turn — until I started building real relationships with people in this space. Those connections changed everything for me, and I'm hoping to build that same kind of support here. How I hope to contribute: I'm looking forward to getting to know other members, learning from your experiences, and passing along anything useful I come across.
