@Tony Marsh It was and is extremely satisfying. I love that moment you described. I had one like that with a Greek cooking video. It was on Greek TV (about ten years ago or so) so there were no captions. I turned it on to WATCH but assumed I wouldn't be able to understand much of it. I started watching and I could understand every single thing the chef was saying. I kept waiting for the moment I would stop understanding. It never came. I was astonished and delighted beyond description. (The video was about making melomakarona, the famous Greek Honey Christmas cookie. I had to learn how to make them because I was teaching a cooking class. I always call this my melomakarona moment - but it has nothing to do with the food.)
