A $500 surprise from Manus — here's what to watch out for.
Heads up on Manus, if you're using it or thinking about it. I've built a lot with it. One e-commerce site with 80+ pages, a business website, an app, and some seriously detailed research and spreadsheets. The output quality is great. But the billing situation caught me off guard and I don't want the same thing to happen to you. Here's what went sideways for me: every time I topped up credits, Manus quietly bumped me into a higher pricing tier in the background. About a week and a half before my renewal, I dropped my subscription down to the $40 level. However my renewal came through at $500! Getting support was rough. Six days for a reply, and when it came, it was short. They credited what I hadn't used and dropped me to a free account, even though I told them I wanted to stay on a paid plan. Credits are still a little strange over there. One thing worth knowing: those 300 daily credits you get? They only work in Manus Lite. Here's what their documentation says: "If you do not see your daily refresh credits in your total amount of credits, you may be in Manus 1.6 or Manus 1.6 Max mode. Daily refresh credits can only be used in Manus 1.6 Lite mode." So just keep an eye on it. It's a solid tool. Just go in with your eyes open.
