I get this QUESTION ALOT!!
🙋‍♀️“Why do you teach us to manually sew the hardware instead of just using a sewing machine?” 💡The answer is simple. I want you to learn more than one way to execute the process and always have a backup plan. ✍️Not everyone owns a sewing machine, and not everyone knows how to use one. I never want a lack of equipment to stop you from creating a quality wig, so I teach the manual method first. ✍️When using the dome cap method, a sewing machine needle goes completely through the spandex as it stitches. Because those stitches run through the stretch material, they can reduce the dome cap’s ability to stretch to its full capacity. That flexibility is important for comfort and fit. ✍️When you manually sew in your hardware, you have complete control over where your needle goes. You can strategically place your stitches while preserving more of the stretch in the cap. ✍️Does that mean you cannot use a sewing machine? Absolutely not. You are more than welcome to use one if that is your preferred method. I simply want you to understand the difference and why I teach it the way I do. 💡Remember, my goal is not to teach you just one technique. My goal is to equip you with multiple methods so that you can confidently execute the procedure regardless of the tools you have available.

Truth be told if you just take small tight stitches they will last or outlast a sewing machine stitch. Especially when you use upholstery thread instead of the sewing machine thread. Hand sewing closures I’ve mastered because I’ve never learned to sew wigs on the sewing machine. But when we take our time our stitches will look machine made ☺️

🎓As a stylist, over the years I’ve noticed that most stylists and entrepreneurs are not charging their worth. It all starts with your 🔑 mindset. 🔑 🤔If two stylists perform the exact same service, but one has spent years mastering techniques that create better results, should they charge the same? 🔑You’re not charging for two hours of work. You’re charging for the years it took to make those two hours look easy. READ THAT AGAIN!!!!! 🔑You don’t have to be the best at what you do to make money, and you don’t have to be better than the best to charge your worth. Knowing your worth is GOLDEN. The question is: Do you know your worth? 💡Clients don’t pay for a service; they pay for an experience with you. If you don’t give them a reason to pay, they won’t see the value in paying you. Your client isn’t paying for a haircut, a wig, or a style. 💡They’re paying for your knowledge, your experience, your judgment, your problem-solving ability, and the confidence you give them. Don’t build a business where you have to work more to make more. Build one where your knowledge increases your income. 💭Write down ONE way you can increase the value of each client experience this month without adding more hours to your schedule.

You are preaching right here! After 35 years of braiding and weaving I decided to stop compromising. I’ve set my prices and I’ve had people cancel or do a consultation and try and bargain with me. We don’t bargain at the grocery store when they set their prices. People pay for what they want at the end of the day. Great message!

This looks Amazing! Great work 🥰
Let’s take a moment to be honest 🙏
Building a business can be exciting and exhausting at the same time. Some days you feel unstoppable… and other days you question everything. Just remember: growth doesn’t always happen overnight. The people who win are usually the ones who keep showing up, learning, adjusting, and staying consistent even when things feel slow. 💎 A lot of businesses don’t fail from lack of talent. They fail from burnout, fear, procrastination, self-doubt, and giving up too soon. Sometimes the hardest part about staying motivated is when nobody’s clapping. Posting when nobody’s engaging. Working when you’re tired. Believing when results are moving slow. So, let’s focus on becoming the version of yourself that can HANDLE the success you keep praying for.

Wow mine is also 1,3, & 4. I gained my popularity in my city through YouTube. I’m taking 2010 when it was really paying and taking off. But I stopped posting got comfortable and changes happened. They demonetized me and now I’m starting over. I was doing hair from home right before Covid and stayed for years. I’m just now back in the salon and changing my direction. These are some great comments and I’m happy to find a community I can grow in.
Just wanted to share my find
Hey everybody I found this bump hair for $5 a pack discounted at a local beauty supply store. I purchased what she had which was 11 boxes. I’m in Sacramento CA and I found the hair at a beauty supply(KingsWigs) in Rancho Cordova. I’m new at making glue wigs so this was perfect for me. The hair is 100% remi human hair. I need to find a vendor for the short hair weave. I hate paying bss prices. Which is why I jumped and bought all the lady had for $5 a box. I’m excited about this new journey I’ve committed myself to. I’m a sewin specialist glue is outside of my comfort zone but I’ve been watching Felicia for years and those quickweave wigs make more dollars and sense when it comes to time invested. So I would suggest you check with your local bss to see if they have something marked down. The crazy part is I had asked another sales person for the velvet in a lighter color and they didn’t have any. I was walking out of the store when the owner stopped me and suggested the bump hair. This is great for me to perfect my skill without a huge investment. ☺️
