Have you planned for death?
It’s one of life’s strange truths: none of us get out of it alive. Over the past few months, I’ve learned some things many of us never think about—like how dramatically your tax liability can change after the death of a spouse when you move from filing jointly to filing single. Navigating the loss of a spouse—expected or not—is a profound transition that demands both emotional resilience and practical preparation. Here are three areas worth paying attention to. 1. Emotional Resilience & Self‑Care 2. Financial & Legal Stability 3. Practical Transitions & Daily Structure This month’s Let’s Talk About Retirement is dedicated to this important topic. Join us Tuesday, April 14 at 7 PM ET for a thoughtful, compassionate conversation. Here’s the link: https://www.skool.com/live/ZBDrxvLHPw5 If you know someone who would benefit from this, please feel free to share it.

Looking for something free to do?
When my kiddos were growing up, I always found cool free and inexpensive outings. One of our favorites was NYC. Yes, free New York. I would park up town, and we would visit Central Park, 5th Avenue, and the Smithsonian Museums. Sometimes we would wander by Times Square and Rockefeller Center. We had a wonderful time riding the elevator in Tiffany's where they have an elevator attendant, and browsing the $3000 blouses in Bergdorf Goodman's. I just came across this AARP article with things that grownups can get or do for free. What speaks to you? https://www.aarp.org/money/personal-finance/great-freebies-no-cost-offers/?cmp=EMC-DSM-NLC-OTH-WBLTR-2239402-2249105-10093804-NA-03282026-Webletter-MS1-SAPLA-BTN-NA-Money&encparam=0/t6x4v3sCm1h3vqgzTAScoJTMZ95AWWWhvks2kbn40=

Post about our group
Hi All. I am hoping to get this group to grow so we can attract some quality guest speakers. I would like this community to be a place where we can talk about retirement ... questions, fears, struggles, and wins. Please pass this along to anyone who may have an interest. And, let us know how you're doing! https://www.linkedin.com/posts/dockerby_we-think-about-retirement-but-are-we-thinking-activity-7442738140504772608-vKy-?utm_source=share&utm_medium=member_desktop&rcm=ACoAAAu2n3oBJXdZvp1H6KCxFbqV7id7Z3-_wAM

Let's talk about retirement!
Our first monthly chat is coming up. I have scheduled monthly meetings Tuesdays at 7 pm ET. I thought it would be nice to start off with the chat about books. They don't have to be retirement related, anything that you find meaningful. We will definitely love talk about Christy Marvel's new book. Some ideas I have for topics for the coming months are fun and meaningful things to do, supplements, travel, sleep tips, and how you use AI. Please, share your topics of interest with us and invite your friends to join us. Also, remember we are changing the clocks this weekend.
