Aromatherapy Awareness at its best!!
In honour of ‘Aromatherapy Awareness Week’ I’d like to review my most recent book purchase! “The Natural Approach to the Poisons” by Jane Lawson. Jane is my long time teacher/mentor/ colleague and friend!! She is an absolute wealth of knowledge about all things aromatherapy based. When we say poison we thing of hemlock and deadly nightshade. ☠️ However Jane looks at some common essential oils that people may use often such as cinnamon, ginger, citronella and lemongrass. She explains why they have more contraindications than benefits! The book also explains about some that are often confused such as eucalyptus citradora as the least safe eucalyptus. Bay which isn’t as safe as bay laurel and sweet birch being dangerous as opposed to tar birch. Often people thing they are the same and purchase the wrong one! The book is summed up for me in the quote “They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they never stopped to think if they should!” Just because it’s been made into an essential oil doesn’t mean it’s safe to use. This is a valuable book for every aromatherapist as well as enthusiastic home users too! To purchase either contact Jane on the link below or purchase from Amazon on this link - https://amzn.eu/d/09Pmtzrv https://www.facebook.com/share/14eiv2KNFFN/?mibextid=wwXIfr

Other Therapy modalites, do you incorporate EO's into them?
Our tribe is not just about Aromatherapy/EO's, it's about other therapies as well. So, I'm curious, what other therapies do you practice, and do you incorporate EO's into them? To kick you off, I practice various massage techniques, Kinesiology (TFH), Reflexology, Metamorphosis Therapy©, Radiesthesia (dowsing), Reiki Master, Kuan Yin doh©, and various other little "off-shoots", from them, like Chakra clearing, past life work etc. Essential Oils are incorporated into pretty much all of them. Don't be shy, tell us what modalities you practice and whether you incorporate EO's into them or not. Aaaand......Go!

I am qualified in several massage forms, reflexology, aromatherapy, facials and Hopi ear candling. I incorporate some oils in everything I do. I use blended oils in massage and reflexology. I use oil based products in my facials and I use blended oils to do the facial massage and facial reflex with Hopi treatments.
Winter Essential Oils - Registrations now open
Here come the Winter Essential Oils CPD Certificated classes, spread over 3 classes, starting on Monday 2nd November live on zoom at 7pm GMT. The other dates are: 16th November and 30th November. Over 3 classes we will be investigating 17 EO's to help us prepare for the darker winter months ahead and the inevitable bugs that go around and more. After each class I will send you comprehensive, individual handout/profile of each oil. Of course you won’t need to purchase all of them, as I will send you a sniffy stick for each oil so you can experience each individual oil in class and decide which ones you want in your kit. They are: Copaiba, Fir Needle, Flouve (Sweet Vernal Grass), Fragonia, Katafray, Kunzea, Lentisque, Manuka, Monarda, Peru Balsam, Plai, Ravensara, Rosalina, Saro, Schinus Molle (Pink Pepper), Siam Wood and Turmeric. Cost: £210, which can be spread over interest free payments (contact me direct) or purchased via the classroom here: https://www.skool.com/maverick-aromatherapy-3200/classroom, but I will need to send you a registration form so I have your address to send out your accompanying sniffy sticks.

My first class with you! I still use most of these oils regularly. Highly recommend!
Shout out and thank you to.....
@Connie Durnin who during yesterdays First Aid Kit for the Home class told us she uses Plai to get relief from Hay Fever symptoms. The more regularly used EO is Ravensara, but I had completely forgotten that Plai also has Antihystamine properties as well.... yes, even a teacher can forget things sometimes! 😊 Connie had dowsed herself for an EO and Plai popped up for her and she says it does afford her relief from the usual runny nose etc. Further though, today I had a client who is trying for a baby. Before she left she asked me if there was an oil she could use for it. Obviously the Ravensara was out of the question as it shouldn't be used in pregnancy, but I didn't want to take any chances. Funnily enough she much prefered the scent pf the Plai to the Ravensara. So, thank you Connie, for the reminder yesterday!!! ❤️

It was a great session on first aid! Thanks Jane.
Ooh! Another batch of ‘The Poisons’!
Latest batch of books have arrived in time for a full day presentation @Nicky Milligan ’s on the 19th April. If you are local to Gloucester @Ewa Skabek @Connie Durnin @Davina Salter why not come along? You’ll also get a separate handout to accompany the book with suggestions of alternative EO’s to 20 of the EO’s covered in the book. Cost is £45, but if you already have my book that cost is deducted to £20! Bring your own lunch!
