This is so true. I was one of the first ones in my family to go to a university. I had my 5 y.o. niece stay with me in the dorms for spring break back in the late 80's. Although she had a very rough start as a young adult and dropped out of high school, she remembered her college experience as a kid and was not afraid to tackle going back to school. I am extremely proud to say she will be getting her master's degree from ASU next week, and she is the first one in our entire family to do so. She did this while raising 5 kids and working! On another note, I also dropped out of college and lost the spark to go back. When I found out my niece was close to getting her undergrad degree, I got my spark back and re-enrolled. We both graduated from NAU in 2024. One last note! My daughter is an RN. She went back to school to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and also graduated in 2024. The women in our family are slaying it and paving the way. We come from generations of stay-at-home moms, migrant farm workers, and factory workers, and we have become the founding mothers of educated women with careers in this family.

@Rachel Holland I started drinking psyllium husk powder in the morning, because it promotes fullness, makes you think about drinking more water, and keeps the plumbing clean (if you know what I mean). There are really good videos on how this product can boost GLP-1 naturally. I added walking on my tip toes when at home to help promote balance and foot/calf strength and attempt to do planks longer. My PT still tries to get me to do squats, but my knee says NO! None of what I do is pretty or requires spandex. Heck ladies, just blast some tunes and bust some moves. "That is the way".

@Rachel Holland We lose balance and hip strength. I hate squat type exercises, but if we struggle getting off the 🚽 or out of a 🪑, then we gotta do em.
What Are Your Goals?
This year, I’m focused on building a Skool community that genuinely supports, inspires, and motivates—not just others but myself as well. I want it to be a space where real growth, connection, and accountability happen. I’m also committed to expanding my YouTube channel, Becoming Rachel, to over 5,000 active subscribers and reaching monetization. My goal is to create meaningful content that truly resonates and helps people transform their lives. On a personal level, I’m prioritizing my health by losing 15 pounds and transitioning to a cleaner, more intentional way of eating—especially by incorporating more vegetables and nourishing foods into my daily routine. I also want to increase my international travel, exploring more countries throughout Europe and continuing to build a life rooted in freedom, experience, and global connection.

I am learning how to retire and slow travel the world with my husband, so my goals are aligned with this by finding the right tools and meeting the right people. I have already lost most of my excessive weight and built up my fitness levels, so I just need to maintain what I am doing. If I could only channel my anger into exercise, I would never have to watch what I eat ever again! My mental health from being in the USA has taken its toll and my husband and I are currently staying in Mexico. While here, my goals are to become fluent in Spanish, use technology better (Google translate, etc.), interact more with locals, and learn more about my family history since my paternal grandparents are from here. I also want to build a better relationship with my husband by focusing on our communication skills. Steps I have already taken are: 1) Buying a subscription to Babbel where I can learn most foreign languages. 2) Hiring a personal physical therapist to help with proper exercises and alleviating aches and pains 3) Joining this group and several other groups on this and other platforms. We also attend neighborhood and local events like trivia, game day, karaoke, Freethinkers, fiestas, and more fiestas. We are a military family, and we also joined the local American Legion. 4) Just recognizing my transition into retirement was challenging, and I am proud I actually launched!

@Rachel Holland Wow, Bucharest! I am delighted to hear you are slow travelling and am definitely interested in reading your book. I have a son currently living in Sweden and my husband and I are looking into a repositioning cruise to get us to Europe next year some time. It's a work in progress, mainly because my doggie is 11 yrs old and she's my baby. Being in Mexico has been a wonderful learning experience for me. We're in Ajijic, which is a well-known retirement destination for many foreigners, and people here have exposed me to the wonders of disconnecting from my work identify. Everything I did was for my job or my kids, and now I get to become my new, best self.

Hello. What ideas have you explored for passive income? I hear so many women want to do the same, however, for different reasons. Some need more money while others just to have something to do.
