I’ve hired a couple of interim EDs and a couple of permanent ones — having an interim ED has been super valuable both times. It gives you breathing room to do a proper search, and a good interim can spot issues and help set things up for the next person’s success. I’ve had good experiences with Interim Executive Solutions and Third Sector New England for interim placements. For a permanent search, Dana Hagenbuch Search ([email protected]) was fantastic — not cheap, but she surfaced strong candidates we never would’ve reached otherwise.
