Howdy LaJade congrats on graduating now we want you to past this exam. First things first I obtained my MLT ASCP many moons ago. The course breakdown was different nevertheless the consistent component is to look at the exam content on ASCP website. conduct an analysis of what subject is your weakest to strongest as Marilyn suggested.
Failed ASCP(Hematology) 3 times!!!
I recently took my ascp for the 3rd time. But it’s strictly in Heme. I’ve been trying to pass for 2 years. I’m very sad bout it and don’t want to give up! I’ve used all resources.

ASCP is IMHO unnecessarily challenging these days. I do not know who is on the board and their rationale on making the test not adapting to what MLS/MLT actually do in the lab. With that being said I would give yourself some time to pivot focus on if you are already in a lab try to transfer in a laboratory that focus or can schedule on heme/coag benches, that helped me out. Study im a visual learner I studied by looking at hematology atlases then follow up with theory with the ASCP exam content beside me. Interconnect disease states with images, analyzer testing, and physiology. Don't give up!!
How’s to proceed
Hey y’all idk if this is the right place to ask this question but I am currently on the hunt for a job since I passed my exam earlier this year. I was interviewed but this one hospital via teams and I think the it went well. Long story short, they want me to come in and take a tour of the lab and also have a “peer interview” with their Tech Specialist and Technical Lead. Idk how to prep for this interview like should focus more on skill based questions they might ask me or what? I really want to get this job but idk if they want me since they said I have no actual lab experience except the rotations I did during school. Any help/tips will help. thx ☺️

Hello Aldo You mentioned the position is in a hospital? Is this hospital laboratory with departments for patient diagnosis or is this a hospital elaboration that’s conducting research?
