Module 5: Your Game Plan
We'd love to hear what your plan looks like. What's the first thing you're going to focus on over the next week?

@Rima Said there is an ebook in the library called 'Beyond the Bowl' that will be helpful for this. Although scatter feeding seems like a really simple activity to us, for some dogs—rescues in particular—it can actually be quite challenging. They have to learn how to “play the game”, and just like any new skill, persistence is key. Perhaps try a really small scatter feed—maybe just 2–3 pieces of kibble—before giving her the slow feeder. That way you know she’s hungry, but it doesn’t become too overwhelming for her. Treat it as a new skill that you’re gradually helping her learn. Sniffing is so valuable for so many things, so it’s definitely worth working on. Learning something new like this can also be a lovely little confidence builder for her. Let us know how you go! 😊

@Rima Said you are very welcome! Sometimes the most simple games are the ones that make the biggest difference :-)
Beneath The Bark Questions & Discussion
This is the discussion space for members working through the Beneath the Bark course. If you have a question about a particular lesson, head over to the Community tab here and add your question to the discussion for the relevant module. Keeping conversations with the right module makes it much easier for everyone to find answers and learn from each other's experiences. You're also welcome to share your biggest takeaways, celebrate your wins, or ask for clarification on anything you've learned along the way. If you haven't enrolled yet, you're still welcome to browse the conversations and see what members are discovering. The full course is available as a standalone purchase whenever you're ready. No question is too small. Chances are, if you're wondering about something, someone else is too. Enjoy the course 🐾 Deb

🟤 Welcome to August: Food & Behaviour
Have you ever wondered whether your dog's food could be affecting their behaviour? When we think about behaviour challenges, most of us naturally focus on training. But just like us, what our dogs eat can influence how they feel, cope, learn and respond to the world around them. Think about how you feel after a weekend of takeaway compared to a week of nourishing meals. While it's not quite that simple for our dogs, nutrition can play an important role in their overall wellbeing—and it's something that's often overlooked. Throughout August we'll be exploring the relationship between food and behaviour. We'll look at common myths, answer your questions, and explore practical ways to make informed decisions without all the confusion. I'd love to hear where everyone is at before we dive in. • What are you currently feeding your dog? • Have you ever wondered if food could be influencing their behaviour? • Or has your dog always seemed happy and settled on what they're eating? There's no right or wrong answer, and absolutely no judgement. Every dog is different, and this month is all about learning together. I'm looking forward to some great conversations! 🐾💚

@Naturopathic coach Kelli you are absolutely right! Food affects our dogs as much as it affects us and sadly, there are no regulations in place for dog food.

@Rima Said Yes, it is just one pice of a very big puzzle! And absolutely - the packaging can be very misleading - it feels like you need to be a detective and know what to look for! It really should not be so difficult...
Module 1: The Stress Bucket
💬 What was your biggest takeaway from this lesson? Did anything make you look at your dog's behaviour differently? We'd love to hear your thoughts or answer any questions.
Module 2: Every Dog Has A Brain
What surprised you most about how your dog's brain works? Was there anything that challenged the way you've thought about behaviour in the past?
