Hi everyone! I’m new to the STR world. Like most people here, we’re trying to reduce our taxable income from our W-2. We just went under contract on a Duplex in Florida. My question is, who should we have own this property….our LLC, one of us, both of us (me and my husband) or a trust? What provides the most protection and doesn’t create any tax issues?

Hello Ryan, we’re new to this community. We were referred by a mentor that I am now working with in the STR world my husband and I own two properties, one short-term rental, the other long-term. we are looking to expand our portfolio. We want to learn as much as we can about the short-term benefits to offset W-2, save as much on taxes so that we can turn around and invest that money back into real estate.
