. Today's scripture: 🌎Psalm 34:18 (HNV)♥️ "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." Context: David wrote this psalm after fleeing from Abimelech (Achish of Gath), where he feigned madness to escape with his life (1 Samuel 21). It is an acrostic thanksgiving psalm: David begins by celebrating his own deliverance, then widens the lens to teach all who suffer. Verse 18 sits at the center of the psalm's comfort, turning from story to theology. Affliction does not disqualify anyone from God's presence. Language: The key Hebrew word is *daka'*, translated "crushed." It means ground down, beaten into dust, like grain under a millstone. Paired with *shabar* ("broken"), David is describing not a bruised mood but total inner ruin. The verb "saves" is *yasha*, to rescue and set free. And "near" (*qarov*) is the surprise: the God of the universe draws close precisely where we are most shattered. Meaning: For Israel hearing this psalm in worship, the claim was radical. Many ancient faiths pictured their gods as distant, or impressed only by strength. David testifies the opposite: Yahweh is nearest in the pit, not the palace. Application: A broken heart can feel like evidence of God's absence. This verse says it is often the very address where He dwells. Whatever is weighing on you today, take it to Him honestly, not polished. He is already near.

Happy 27th Anniversary to my beloved husband, Ronald Caviness! ❤️
Happy 27th Anniversary to my beloved husband, Ronald Caviness! ❤️ Twenty-seven years ago, we began a journey of learning one another, growing together, and blending our families into one. We have walked through beautiful seasons and difficult ones, and every step has shaped us, strengthened us, and brought us closer. Looking back, I am overwhelmed with gratitude for the life we have built and for the love that has carried us through it all. Ronald, I thank God for you every day. You are the epitome of an Ephesians 5:25 man—a loving husband, provider, protector, and my very best friend. Your steadfast love, patience, strength, and devotion to me and our family have been blessings beyond words. I am so grateful for the way you love me, stand beside me, and continue to choose us. Through every season, God has reminded us that a strong marriage is not built on perfection, but on love, forgiveness, commitment, faith, and the decision to keep walking together. We have chosen to put God first and allow Him to remain at the center of our marriage, and I am so thankful He has guided us through these 27 years. After all this time, I still choose you. I still honor you. I still cherish you. And I still thank God for the gift of being your wife. You are my heart, my home, and my forever love. Happy Anniversary, my love! Here’s to the beautiful journey still ahead of us—hand in hand, heart to heart, and with God leading the way. I love you more than words can ever express, Ronald! 💕🥂 “Therefore what God has joined together, let no one separate.” — Mark 10:9

STUDY GUIDE: FOR EVERY BELIEVER The Prophetic Grace and Anointing
I. Four Terms Often Confused Most confusion about the prophetic begins with treating “grace,” “anointing,” “gift,” and “office” as interchangeable. Scripture uses four distinct words, and each does different work in a believer's life — the same four terms that govern the apostolic, applied here to the prophetic. positions and qualifies them to hear and speak for Him. BDAG: “a gracious deed or gift, favor.” Paul locates the prophetic gift explicitly in grace: “having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy…” (Romans 12:6). chrísma — G5545 Anointing — the applied, functional presence that empowers and teaches; distinct from mere favor, this is enablement in operation. Thayer: “an unguent, a chrism”; used of the Spirit's abiding, teaching presence in 1 John 2:20, 27 — “ye have an unction from the Holy One… the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you.” Grace positions a believer to hear from God; anointing is what actually makes the hearing and speaking function. propheteia — G4394 Prophecy — the specific, distributed gift that produces an actual word for a person or gathering in a given moment. BDAG: “the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose” — the concrete manifestation, the same relationship gift bears to grace and anointing across every category of ministry. prophétēs — G4396 (cf. Hebrew nāvî’, H5030) Prophet — the recognized office; from pro (“before, forth”) and phēmí (“to speak”) — one who speaks forth on another's behalf, confirmed by others rather than self-declared. BDAG traces the root sense to “one who speaks forth” under authorization, matching the Hebrew background of nāvî’ as one summoned and commissioned to announce on behalf of another — a recognized, tested ministry, not a title any gifted believer may claim for themselves. II. Grace as the Foundation “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you… Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith.” — Romans 12:3, 6
