Tomorrow on the Spring Equinox (aka the astrological new year.) I start something I made just for me. I created 40 self-care bingo cards — each one filled with the daily habits and rituals that make me feel like myself. Every time I complete a bingo I get $4.50 and for a full card, I’m moving $45 into my birthday fund. I’m turning 45 on April 29th. This is how I’m showing up for myself on the way there. Last night I allowed myself 30 minutes of YouTube shorts. one of the ones that popped up was one I’ve seen before and shared with my daughter previously. it’s Viola Davis talking about how she tells her daughter that she is the love of her life. I’m so happy that when I asked my daughter the question last night, who’s the love of your life she said me. What did you say? Happy Monday! I’ve been off social for a whole week now! So that’s why you guys are getting all the photos! It’s been very nice to take a break and I feel like I am accomplishing a little bit more and definitely consuming a lot less. My mindset started with doing the blackout and sticking it to the man, but in the end, I’m more focused on consuming less in all areas so this weekend for me was a lot about slowing down, spending time and connecting! this is a post to to let you know how I am feeling right now. I am over the grind. I am over the noise. I am over thinking this is how it and that’s just how it’s going to be. I am personally participating in the Mass Economic Blackout because I want the corporations and government to remember that they are nothing without the people. I hope you will join me in the Blackout at whatever level feels comfortable for you. Personally, I will only be shopping at small businesses and even that will be limited especially that week. I’m getting off social media and not using any streaming platforms that have ads. I am not renewing my Walmart Plus membership that ends this month. I plan to not renew Amazon and Sam’s when they expire. I am slowly moving to finding stores that align with my values. Most importantly, I will spend my time leaning into community and building relationships. 💕
