Basic Tools
Here is a list of basic tools every composite repair technician should have: 1. Pair of scissors 2. 90° die grinder 3. Dual Action (DA) sander 4. Ruler These are very basic, but will get you started. I will go further into specialized tooling and material requirements in a separate post.

A little tip about making a ruler. I was taught to use a 1"X18" strip of sheet metal (debur the edges), then using a known ruler as a scale, scribe lines into the sheet metal matching the major graduations of the ruler ( 1/4", 1/2", 3/4", 1"....etc.), identify each major marking (1", 2", 3"....etc.). Adhesives and Glues can make a mess out of your tools if they're not cleaned in a timely manner. If you ever get called away from your project and your adhesive ruins your homemade ruler, you can always throw it out, make a new one and your clean original ruler lives to measure another day. Happy Fabricating!
