Have you noticed every time you try to do something good and meaningful or noble that you experience a mysterious resistance? You want to do some creative project? You're getting resistance. You wanna launch a new company or nonprofit? You're going to get resistance. You want to start a diet or a new health program to take ownership of your life? You're going to experience resistance. If you want to get your life back on track with God? Resistance is near. Stephen Pressfield author of the Legend of Bagger Vance and so many other great novels said "Any act that rejects immediate gratification in favor of long-term growth, health or integrity will receive internal and external resistance." He went further..."Any act that derives from our higher nature instead of our lower will elicit resistance." Pressfield wrote a book called the War of Art, which is a kick in the behind for anyone who has dreams, wants to create something meaningful, and those who are entrepreneurs. The biggest enemy to our noble achievements is the enemy within us, he calls it RESISTANCE. It arises from within; it is self generated; and self perpetuated. Resistance is cruel, it has no conscience, and it will pledge anything to get a deal from you. Then it will double cross you as soon as your back is turned. Resistance is a force of nature that goes after every one of us who strive to do anything great. It plays on your fears. This resistance will obstruct your movement from the lower to the higher. But if you're going from the higher to THE lower resistance will leave you alone because it is not threated by mediocrity. THERES A SCRIPTURE... Proverbs 3:27-28 – "Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act." This proverb teaches us not to delay in doing good, especially when we have the means to do so. It's a call to action, encouraging us not to procrastinate when we have the opportunity to help others. Let's go! Do great things.
