Keys to learning songs
Good morning guys! Hope you can jump on the call this morning. No pressure, just a hang. But I want to be able to discuss the process of learning bass lines and songs. Link to join the Bass Talk Coffee break in in the Calendar as well as right here! -->https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81537135354

I think I missed it? Just now got the email
What are you practicing?
Thought I would post this on the community page as well ( I added to the thread about posting video of yourself playing) as na invitation to anyone who wants to post video of themselves playing or what they are working on, etc.

@Mike Burkhart Hey Mike. How are you recording this? It looks like its thru Google Drive maybe?
Inexpensive way to record videos
Wondering what y'all use to setup and record your videos of you playing along WITH your favorite songs. I have a Spotify account that I have a couple playlist done for my bass learnin. So I Bluetooth my phone to an ION PA speaker and then set the volume to match my Fender Rumble 40 that I'm using for my bass. I'm thinking I could Bluetooth the Spotify songs from my tablet, play bass through the Rumble, and then record with my phone? or is there a better way? Thanks for any advice.
Flats vs Roundwound
I tried playing a bass with flats on it at the guitar shop the other day and I'm considering getting a set but can't decide which bass I want to put it on. After selling my Squier CV 60s P today, I'm left with my TRBX304, a Fender J, The ESP LTD fretless I'm getting in 2 weeks, or the PJ kit/parts I'm building. Any suggestions? Someone suggested to me to put flats on the fretless but... It will most likely be my main player and I don't know if flats will give the punch for some of the varieties of music I want to learn. Not to mention strings aren't cheap. TIA for help

@Anthony Matulonis No. I DO have a Peavey Millennium 5 string with the Low B but I don't play it hardly as I'm struggling just to learn 4 string bass. I WILL keep it though. as I think the slim neck would make it easier to transition later on if I need to for music's sake.

Tuners
Now that we have established what brands of basses we all are using, what are you using for tuners? I'm using a korg digital tuner, before this I had a fender tuner app on my phone. Was thinking about a clip on tuner. Anyone use these?

I WAS using a clip on tuner but recently bought a Peterson StroboStomp HD pedal and absolutely LOVE it. There's no comparison to the clip on tuner I was using.

@Mike Burkhart I have a clip on but wanted something I could rely on for accuracy, easy of use, and it fit on a "future pedal board" if I end up being good enough to play with a band (Or other humans) some day
