Dieting is easy if you believe it to be
Most people think dieting is hard because of food but it’s rarely the food that’s the problem, it’s the mindset behind it. If you’ve read or heard of the ideas in Emotional Eating, you’ll know we don’t eat just because we’re hungry, we eat because we’re stressed, bored, tired, or trying to switch off. Once you realise that, dieting becomes way easier because you stop fighting yourself. Instead of asking “what can’t I eat”, start asking “what am I actually feeling right now”. Create a pause before you eat, drink some water, go for a short walk, or distract yourself for 10 minutes and most cravings pass. Structure beats motivation every time, plan simple meals you enjoy, eat enough protein, and don’t label foods as good or bad because that’s what triggers binges. When you fix the relationship with food in your head, the body change follows naturally.
