POST 1 — “Hello… is this mic on?” 🎙️🐱
Hello kittie checking back in. I’ve been a little MIA in here — not gone, just gathering voice, breath, and perspective. The holidays tend to do that to you! Sometimes the best VO growth happens off-mic… then you come back clearer. If you’re here, you belong here. Period. 👇 Roll call Drop: • your primary VO lane (commercial, animation, narration, etc.) • In one sentence, where would you say you are in your VO journey? •what do you think about a zoom meetup? Let’s re-warm the room together. Hello Kittie is back saying heeeyyyyy 🐱🎙️

Hey everyone, Happy New Year! I've done an even amount of voice work for narration as I have for animations. Still very much so a beginner with my glass half accepting. Don't let my current knowledge be taken for arrogance. I would love to get in on the zoom call with some script reading.
✨ WE’RE DOING A VOICE SPRINT ✨ 7 days. Starting Sunday. Together.
Because your voice doesn’t get stronger by waiting. It gets stronger by using it. And we’re doing this community-style. 🎙️💛 🎧 HOW THE VOICE SPRINT WORKS (Simple + fun, I promise.) Each day, I’ll post one VOICE PROMPT. Your job: 👉 Create your own post in this community using the tag #VoiceSprint, inspired by that day’s prompt. ✨ Important & loving reminder ✨ Even though I give the prompt, you still need to make your own post (not just comment on mine). That’s how confidence builds, consistency sticks, and entries count. 🎟️ HOW TO EARN ENTRIES Showing up = leveling up 🎙️ • 1 entry for each day you post using #VoiceSprint • +1 bonus entry if you include a picture of yourself (studio selfies welcome 😄) • +1 entry for each comment you leave on someone else’s Voice Sprint post (up to 10 comment entries total) Translation: ✨ Practice ✨ Share your voice ✨ Support other voices = more chances to win ☕ PRIZES! At the end of the week, I’ll draw 1 winner 🎉 The winner receives a Voice Project mug. Voice + coffee = peak performance ☕🎙️ 🎙️ THE 7 VOICE PROMPTS (So you know what’s coming) Day 1 – Tiny Voice Win A small VO win, effort, or moment you’re proud of. Day 2 – Body & Breath A moment your breath, posture, or body supported your voice. Day 3 – Human Connection A read, note, or interaction that made you feel seen or heard. Day 4 – Environment Check Your recording space, sound, vibe, or something you adjusted. Day 5 – Voice Memory A past VO moment that still motivates you. Day 6 – Giving Voice Feedback you gave, encouragement you shared, or help you witnessed. Day 7 – Voice Forward One thing you want more of in your VO journey. 📸 Photos optional 📝 One sentence is enough 🎧 Audio welcome but not required 🚫 Perfection is not the goal I’ll post Day 1 on Sunday, and I’ll be right here all week — commenting, cheering, and participating with you. 🐱🎙️ ✨ So… who’s in? ✨ Drop a 🎙️, a 🙋‍♀️, or tell me what part of your VO practice you’re most excited to focus on this week.

🎙Day 1 and 2 immediately got me thinking. Body & Breath is really good to understand when creating a character and voice for that character. I have those two days already in mind. This is gonna be fun!
How do you bring animated characters to life?
Let’s clear something up real quick: It’s not the voice. It’s the why behind the voice. Lots of actors can SOUND the same. Only one FEELS alive. 🎭 Character lives in the details: • Motivation — what do they want right now? • Who are they talking to? • Quirks — the oddly specific stuff • Emotional truth — even comedy needs it • Subtlety — the pause, the breath, the choice you don’t overplay 🐱 Hello kittie moment: Hello Kitty doesn’t even talk… and yet she has more personality than half the auditions out there. 😌 Why? Intention. Presence. Emotional clarity. (If Hello Kitty did have a voice, you know she’d have boundaries & inflection and personality & an objective.) 🎭 Character Lab: Share ONE character you’ve voiced (or are building) and ONE intentional choice you made that gave them LIFE! Maybe it was: • A flaw you leaned into • A disease or speech impediment • A personal reference you emulated • A moment you did less and it finally worked No flexing. No gatekeeping. This space is about process over perfection. Let’s borrow each other’s magic and build better characters together. 👇 Drop your story below. Hear kittie kittie. 🐾🎧

Sometimes I create original characters and sometimes I'll practice impressions of characters to help influence another character's style. Its my personal exercise that helps me with consistency of holding a voice together. 😅 Thats tough for me sometimes. For example, I recently did a video where I drew Pennywise and drooled while recording because I stretched my jaws wide while speaking. I took pauses and stopped sharp on certain words to get closer to the original creepiness of his voice. I cut the part of the video where I sounded more like Jim Carey's Grinch lol. On the other hand, when I was creating a voice for an original character of mine, I drew a small mushroom wizard who has a temper towards people dumping in the forests. I shrank my voice and aged him to sound small and full of wisdom. I made him go from murdering to yelling and fighting. He talks a little tough but he shows he's playful and cares about nature, in the way his tone softens.

It feels good to slip into a different voice honestly. Sounds different, yes. Its like flexing what your voice can do and then it adds a nice confidence boost that keeps you in the head space of "yes I can figure this out". I also want to help create projects that inspire good things for those watching. Some of the best quotes ive memorized have inspired me as an actor and artist.
