Your $9 community has a math problem 👀
DON’T EXPECT YOUR $9 COMMUNITY TO GET YOU TO $10K MONTHS Low-ticket communities sound great. Charge $9 a month. Get lots of members. Build recurring revenue. But there’s a math problem. At $9/month, you need 1,112 paying members to hit $10K MRR. And those paying members don’t magically appear. If you convert 20–30% of your community to paid, you’d need roughly 3,700–5,600 total members to produce those 1,112 paying members. And then you have churn. So unless you already have a massive audience, a strong ad engine or a reliable source of high-volume traffic, $9 is a volume game. I’d rather make the math easier. Start Premium at $49+ per month. Build reliable traffic into your free community. Create a clear reason to upgrade. Focus on traffic, conversion and retention. Then offer VIP for the people who want more access, support or faster results. You don’t need thousands of paying members to build a $10K/month business. You need a business model where the math actually works. So ask yourself: Are you trying to build a community that needs massive volume? Or one that can make more money with fewer members?

constraint is traffic

@Brenda Rigney I'll be cleaning out soon. I had a viral video earlier this year and that's where most of them came from. They came in and disappered the same day..😂
The biggest leak 💦 in FREEMIUM communities
FREE → $9 → $19 is probably not the pricing strategy you think it is. This is one of the biggest leaks I see when I audit free → paid communities. We get nervous about asking people to pay, so we start really low. But if I’m already getting value for FREE, why would $9 suddenly make me want to upgrade? There needs to be a meaningful difference between Free and Premium. I’d rather see you start Premium around $49/month and increase it by $10 as the community grows, eventually capping around $99. You don’t need everyone to upgrade. You need the right people to see Premium and think: Yep. That’s where I need to be. Price for the transformation, not because you’re afraid people won’t buy.

@Brenda Rigney I have more vip members than premium. My friend recently just told me that my premium was too cheap..

@Brenda Rigney thank you so much. I will highlight more of the value.. Sorry above when i said premium is 10 I meant $10 and when I said vip is 20 I meant $20.
Your premium offer probably doesn’t need more content. It needs less.
Your members can get information from ChatGPT, YouTube and free guides. Premium buyers are paying for something different: 👉 Access 👉 Curation 👉 Implementation 👉 Feedback I’ve actually been removing content while raising my prices. My model is becoming much simpler: FREE = information + community PREMIUM = support + implementation VIP = proximity + done-with-you If your paid tier isn’t selling, adding another course probably isn’t the answer. What can your paid members get from YOU that they can’t get from ChatGPT? (share below)
