Welcome to Third Culture Leadership
If you’re here, you probably feel it… That sense of being between worlds — between cultures, identities, or ways of thinking. This space is for exploring that — and turning it into something powerful through storytelling, writing, and creative expression. Let’s start simple 👇 Introduce yourself: - Where are you from / where do you feel “between”? - What draws you to storytelling or creativity? - What’s one story you’ve always wanted to tell? 📸 Bonus: Share a photo of your workspace, notes, or anything that represents your creative world. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Where Can I Create Belonging?
You don’t feel lost… you feel misplaced. There’s a difference. Being lost means you don’t know who you are. Being misplaced means you do know……but the world around you doesn’t quite reflect it. You walk into rooms and adjust yourself slightly. You code-switch. You soften certain parts. You amplify others. Not because you’re fake—but because you’re trying to fit the frame. Here’s the truth most people won’t say: 👉 Maybe the frame is wrong. If you’ve lived between cultures, identities, expectations…you weren’t built to fit neatly into one box. You were built to connect boxes. To translate. To bridge. To see what others can’t. That’s not confusion. That’s capability. So instead of asking:“Where do I belong?” Try asking:“Where can I create belonging?” That shift changes everything. — Harry

Was an expat in Malaysia for many years - did feel strange coming “home” to New Zealand

It’s interesting - was able to connect easily with other expats - even if we weren’t from the same country, we were all “new”/ “foreigners” in this new land
Chameleon?
Do you ever notice your personality changes depending on who you’re around? Not fake. Not pretending. Just… different parts of you becoming louder. Maybe: - your accent changes - your humour changes - your confidence changes - your body language changes - even your values feel slightly different A lot of Third Culture people grow up learning how to “translate” themselves depending on the room. You become: - one version at home - another at school - another with relatives - another online - another at work The strange part? After a while you stop knowing which one is the “real” you. But maybe the real you isn’t one side. Maybe the real you is the bridge between them. Question:What’s one thing that changes about you depending on the culture or environment you’re in?

Not talented enough to change accents. But definitely act differently with different groups of ppl - nice to be able to fit in with multiple groups

Question for the Community
Hi guys, This is early stages as there is so few of us - so I'll probably be asking it over and over - but for now, we are the first few and can shape what we want. What do we want this community to grow into? What kind of people do we want in it? What do we want to be able to use this community for and do for each other? Your feedback is deeply appreciated
