I’ve been looking into funded trading programs lately, and I keep noticing something interesting… A lot of people seem confident going into challenges, but still end up failing somewhere along the way. From what you’ve seen or experienced: what’s the real reason most people don’t make it through funded challenges — even when they know what to do?
I think it's usually not a lack of knowledge, it's a lack of discipline. Many traders know the rules and strategy, but emotions can lead to overtrading, revenge trading, or abandoning their plan. Consistency is often the hardest part.
I’m still trying to understand funded trading better, and one thing I can’t figure out is this: why do so many people struggle more with the evaluation stage than actual trading itself? Is it the rules, psychology, or something else that changes once real targets are involved? Curious to hear different opinions on this.
I think it’s mostly psychology. The pressure to meet profit targets and stay within the rules can lead to overtrading and emotional decisions. For many traders, the challenge isn’t the strategy—it’s maintaining discipline and consistency under pressure.
