@Cheryl Miller I pay my teen daughter to post things for me sometimes! 🤓 It's so satifying!

Fifty two
I'm fifty two. Started all this at fifty one. Every so often somebody messages me that they think they're too late to start something. From where I sit that's just not how it works. The only thing age changed for me was that I quit waiting around to be ready. What have you told yourself you're too late for? Say it out loud tonight.

@Theresa Elliott I heard a woman in her 80's say the same thing! We have to SPEED UP and Not slow down. Our bodies and minds already want to slow down everyday, so we are constantly fighting against it to thrive and not deteriorate too fast. It's like sprinting to a finish line, especially when Know a countdown clock is ticking down with an unknown amount of time left !
The trip you don't film
Not every day on the water turns into a video. Some of them the camera never comes out of the dry bag. Those are usually the ones that keep me able to make the rest of them. If every minute out there has to earn its keep, the thing you loved turns into another job you're behind on. What part of your work have you stopped doing just for yourself? What would it take to get that back?

@Theresa Elliott I know exactly what you mean. I find that leaving my “creative” supplies OUT, helps me to get back to it, even if it’s just for a few minutes to knock a part out. It’s all right there in the corner of my living room! Cleaning up is the worse thing we can do!😂
What I do with my hands when the camera's off
Every trip I bring home a piece of driftwood, something with a shape that caught my eye on the bank. Carve most of them into something for the house. Never really talk about it on camera. It's just the quiet part of this that isn't for anybody but me. What's the version of that for you? The thing you do that has nothing to do with growing anything, you just do it because you like it?

@Theresa Elliott Thank you for sharing your story, as amazing art is often birthed to illustrate seasons in life.
POSTING MORE DOES NOT GROW YOU
🪝 Cadence keeps you alive. Breakouts grow you. They are not the same job and they are not even close. Uploading every week is good discipline. It gives you reps, it gives you a catalogue, it keeps a floor under you. Nobody should talk you out of it. But look honestly at any channel that took off and you will find growth did not arrive on a slope. It arrived in a handful of days, two or three times, with long flat stretches between. The weekly upload built the floor. One video broke through the ceiling. If you cannot tell those two jobs apart you will grind for a year and call it bad luck. 🎯 Do this today: Chart your subscriber count by month. Find the jumps.
