🌱 Did you know the “21 days to form a habit” idea is a myth?
When researchers at University College London tracked people building a new daily habit, it took an average of 66 days for the behaviour to feel automatic. For some it was 18 days, for others more than 250. The encouraging part is that missing a single day made no real difference to the outcome. One off day doesn’t undo your progress. You just pick it up again tomorrow. 𝗤𝘂𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗯𝗶𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄? 𝗧𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘂𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂’𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗻.

I love this reminder, Carolyn! It takes the pressure off trying to get everything right and reminds us that consistency is about returning, not being perfect. One habit I’m building is showing up more consistently for my personal growth and business, even on days when motivation is low. What do you think helps people stay committed to a new habit when they don’t see results as quickly as they hoped?

@Carolyn Melnick That gym analogy makes so much sense, Carolyn! 😊 When we set realistic expectations from the beginning, we're less likely to feel discouraged when progress takes longer than expected. I think that shift in mindset can make a big difference in building lasting habits. Do you have a particular strategy you recommend for helping people stay accountable throughout those 66 days, especially when their motivation starts to fade?
IT'S WEDNESDAY — PICK YOUR CARD ✨
Three versions of you, three messages. One of them has been trying to get your attention for a while. This week's cards are all about the child you used to be, before the world taught you to shrink, perform, or hide. Look at the three below. Don't overthink it, just notice which one you feel in your chest, not your head. 💙 Card 1 — The Dreamer 💗 Card 2 — The Wildflower 💜 Card 3 — The Keeper 𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬: ● 1️⃣ Look at all three cards ● 2️⃣ Comment the number you're drawn to (1, 2, or 3) ● 3️⃣ I'll reply with your card's message, plus a journal prompt to carry into the week There are no wrong answers here. Whichever one you pick, she's probably been waiting a long time for someone to finally listen. Drop your number below. I can't wait to see who shows up today.

@Carolyn Melnick I love this perspective, Carolyn, The reminder that we can bloom even when life isn’t perfect is so powerful. Sometimes the most beautiful growth happens in the most unexpected circumstances. What advice would you give someone who feels they’ve lost touch with their purpose and is struggling to find their way back to their own light?
