I am writing my first book. A coming-of-age dark fantasy set more in the 18th or early 19th century rather than medieval times. I am almost done with the rough draft. I've been using Claude AI to check for typos and help keep the plot true to itself. I hope to have the rough draft complete within three weeks or so.

@Lara Helmling I am trying to break as many tropes about fantasy as I can. A lot of stuff is overdone, and I wanted to try something new-ish. I know every story has been told, but in my experience, the 18th and 19th centuries are underutilized in Fantasy.
