I see many people who try to control external things that are out of their control and why would you want too? What goes on in people's heads is really none of your business, even if it's about you. Trying to control other people's thoughts and emotions is pointless. I'm not saying you can't influence them but control is a whole other matter. Control means they've surrendered to you and I don't want POW's, I want allies. I want people align with me due to inspiration, not tyranny. I don't want to rule with an iron fist, rather an open iron palm. My reality is a world of freedom of thoughts and expression, yours should be too. Salute. Dale Valor

I truly believe a man before all else needs to be honest. Not just with everyone else but with himself first and foremost. You should feel comfortable in your own skin and be content with who you are but strive to be more. Have you ever known someone who changes who they are based on the company they're with? We probably all have. The funny thing about it is that everyone can see through it and my guess is even the perpetrator probably knows that it's see through, why does he do it? He does it for acceptance but the irony is the version of himself he's betraying isn't him. It's fraudulent and fake, right? He's not being honest with himself and that trickles down to other people. Be the guy that is authentic and a name people can trust. Salute. Dale Valor

One thing I've always took away from this quote is that you shouldn't go out of your way to be liked but you should go out of your way to be honest. I think too many of us are complacent in life with our creature comforts and it shows. I'm not saying to be obnoxious and overbearing but I am saying to stand up for things you believe to be right. It astounds me that so many people I talk to don't even know what a worldview is let alone have a defined one. This is a huge problem because if you don't have a defined worldview you're likely to have it defined for you. People will build a narrative about you and you'll have to defend something that you don't even know if you believe in or not. Don't ride the fence, pick a side and don't be a man without a country.
