A lot of people say that we should try to book a meeting even after someone says “send me an email”. When I do that, it never goes anywhere. Even when I send them an email, they never reply. Not just this, when I try to call them again, they never pick up my phone. Instead of trying to force a meeting, here’s what I found works really well (at least for me). So when the prospect says “send me an email”, I don’t fight back. Sometimes, people are genuinely interested and they need some more time and space to make a decision. If you fight back, they feel like you’re forcing and trying to “sell”. I agree to sending them an email after confirming their email address. But, before I hang up, I ask a question. And this is key. This tells me if the prospect is genuinely interested or are they just trying to get off the phone. I ask, “Is it okay if I call you back this week, to see if you got a chance to read the email?” The ones who are really interested will say yes. But the ones who are not interested will say no.
