Gratitude Miles – Saturday Reflection
Got my butt out of bed early before my 24-hour shift today. We hit the trail at 4 a.m., headlamps on, crisp air, and nearly 11 miles of hills before sunrise. There’s something sacred about those quiet miles in the dark — just me, the trail, and God’s creation all around. I’m deeply grateful for the calling God placed on my life — to serve as a flight nurse and paramedic. It’s a humbling privilege to be with people in their most vulnerable moments… sometimes even as they take their final breath. That experience changes you. It teaches you the true weight and value of life, and it keeps gratitude at the forefront of every day. Every time I go on a flight, I pray that God works through me — that my hands, my mind, and my heart serve as His tools to bring comfort, healing, and peace to those in need. None of this is about me — it’s all God. Every good thing, every step, every breath, everything. I’m thankful for my health, for the ability to run, and for the strength to serve. All of it is grace.
