1 contribution to ADHD & Mental Health Together
Hello Everyone... Please Introduce yourself
👋 Hi everyone! I'm Cindy! I thought I'd introduce myself and share a little about who I am. My name is Cynthia, but everyone calls me Cindy. I'm 47 years old and live in Dayton, Ohio. I've been with my amazing partner, Brenda (Bren), for 12 years this July, and we have a wonderful blended family. Together we have three children—my daughters, ages 22 and 23, my 16-year-old son, and Bren's 24-year-old son. We're also proud pet parents to six fur-baby cats and one pit bull. I'm a self-proclaimed crazy cat lady and wear that title proudly! 😹 I work with local cat rescuers and feed stray cats every day because helping animals has always been close to my heart. I'm currently working toward my Bachelor's degree in Business while building my digital product business, Mamacat Media, where I create resources to help people on their mental health and recovery journeys. Mental health has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years I've been diagnosed with ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, anxiety with panic attacks, borderline personality disorder (BPD), and tardive dyskinesia (TD) related to long-term medication use. I've also been hospitalized for my mental health several times, participated in counseling and psychiatric care, and learned a tremendous amount through both lived experience and education. I also live with several chronic health conditions, including endometriosis, ankylosing spondylitis, scoliosis, and spinal and ovarian cysts. Some days are harder than others, but I've learned that we can still build meaningful lives even while facing challenges. One thing you'll quickly learn about me is that I genuinely love helping people. If someone needs support, encouragement, or simply someone to listen, I'm usually the first one to show up. I believe kindness goes a long way, and I try to live by that every day. I created this community because I know how important it is to have a place where people feel understood, supported, and accepted without judgment. My hope is that this becomes a space where we can learn from one another, celebrate victories—big or small—and remind each other that we're never alone.
